Acre is filled with gratitude as he feels life return to his body. He stands up and braces himself for the next attack. (Move - stand - Standard - total defense)

OOC:
Acre's hs value is 14, so he should have had 14 hps at the end of last round from Vex's heal (thanks, btw). Knoepf's heal heals hs +15 = 29 more hps, so Acre is now at 43 hps and down two more surges.

Vex moved back towards the fighting. Hefting her heavy sword, she once again hurled it with improbable ease- the massive blade spun outwards towards the flying dragon, but it was too low and clanged into the portcullis instead. An instant later, it reappeared in Vex's hands.

OOC: I NPCed Garrick for Otakkun again. I haven't heard from him. He might be gone for good.

As Knoepf moves towards Acre he mumbers the words My lady. Help me help those in need. Finding the spot he wants, the cleric closes his eyes and begins to pray. As he does so, his wish is granted as his body starts to glow in a silver hue. As his prayers become louder, so does the intensity of the brightness of color. Soon a single orb of silver light releases forth from the cleric's body and begins to rotate about him. Suddenly, Knoepf's eyes snap open and his gaze bores into the dragon. BLASPHEMY! IT IS NOT WISE TO SPEAK SUCH WORDS IN REFERENCE TO THE LADY!" With that, the silver orb shoots forth into the bloodied body of Acre. It is time to put an end to this evil spawn to death. Reek havoc on him Acre!

As the silver light fades away the cleric leans against the pillar as he barely has the strength to stand.

"Garrick, come over here. You need to disrupt the magic of the altar. Without it, Ladoran will never be able to do his ritual." shouts Malehan while shooting again with his bow.

After firing a quick shot at the dragon, Garrick runs towards the altar while keeping everyone in sight.

The lady continues to unleash her arcane missiles on Ladoran.

"I guess I'll just have to kill you one at a time until you are all dead." Ladoran says as he flies over attacking Garrick and Knoepf. As he hits Garrick, Garrick's fire washes over the dragon. Blood spurts out of the dragon, and then Lightning flashes over everyone nearby.

Ladoran misses.

Vex misses.

Garrick hits Ladoran for 15.

23 vs. Reflex hits for 15.

4, breath weapon does not recharge.

The Lady hits Ladoran for 6 with Magic Missiles.

Ladoran hits Garrick for 15, Knoepf for 11, and misses Knoepf.

16+mods hits Garrick for 15, 14+mods hits Knoepf for 11, 10+mods misses Knoepf.

Garrick does extra damage.

9 damage Hellish Rebuke.

Lightning hits Garrick for 17, misses Knoepf, and hits Acre for 17.

16+mods hits Garrick, automatic 1 misses Knoepf, 17+mods hits Acre, 17 damage.

Note: Ladoran is hovering 10 feet in the air.

Lady, 31
Ladoran, 180, bloodied, Oath of Enmity by Malehan, Cursed by Garrick, Marked by Garrick
Knoepf 2/50, bloodied, +1 to next attack roll or saving throw UENT Knoepf
Acre 26/56, bloodied, +2 defenses USNT Acre
Garrick 2/57, bloodied
Vex 32/61, regen 5 when bloodied
Malehan 32/62, +2 AC against adjacent enemies, 7 temp hit points

It's the PC's turn.

The two walls to either side of the entrance way go up 15 feet, so someone could climb either the wall or the portcullis and still get out.

The "stairs up" in the corners, at the statue in the middle, and at the far end are difficult terrain. Everything else is normal terrain. The pillar squares holding up the ceiling are a squeeze, but creatures can diagonally move past them with no difficulty.

Note: there is a set of double doors at the south central part of the map which might be not easy to notice right away.

Seeing an opportunity, Malehan draw his sword and move so he can get a good line. He then starts to move and jump. As he reach his peak, Malehan trust his sword into the dragon and pull it down a few feet before the sword get out of the dragon body. "He is within reach now!"

[SBLOCK=OOC] That is touchy, but seems pretty by the rule, and I hope it work, as we are very limited in the action we can do against a flying creature...

Minor: Draw Falchion
Move: Walk to K19
Standard: Charge Ladoran at P14 while jumping: Athletics High Jump (1d20+7=17) Jump 3.4 feet high. Being Medium, I add 10 feet reach in height and I can attack something 13.4 feet high.

Overwhelming Strike vs AC on Ladoran (1d20+14=24, 1d20+14=21, 2d4+12=15)

If that miss, Elven Accuracy: Elven Accuracy vs AC on Ladoran (1d20+14=31, 1d20+14=24) 31 should hit.

Hit Ladoran for 18 damages and Malehan shift at Q15 and Ladoran is slided 1 square to P14-Q13 and is 5 feet high.

Knoepf looks up at the beast. Raising his staff he blast the dragon with a ray of silver flame. However, the aim was off and the flame shoots over the dragons left wing. Knoepf, knowing that death draws near, struggles a bit to upright himself and then stands tall and proud, then begins to laugh...At least I've done what has always been my focus and passion...confronting and fighting evil...even if it means my death. You, on the other hand, will soon lose everything you worked for. Already your body is battered. Soon it will be over, your experiement and sacrifices will have failed and you'll be dead. I will rest easy knowing that one of my comrades will be the one who ends your pityfull existance from this world...heh heh heh...HEH HEH EEEHEH...HEH HEEH HEEH...HEH HEH HEH HEH EHEH HEH HEH
The clerics voice penatrates every corner of Ladoren's mind.

As per my response to your earlier jump question:

http://www.enworld.org/forum/5518763-post491.html

What you wanted to do is legal. But, the DC for jumping into a square above the normal squares is DC 25. The PC has to actually be in a square in order to attack from it into an adjacent square above it. Just reaching into that square doesn't count.

Yes, the high jump rule allows for a reach (not an attack, but a reach) of 6 feet + 2 feet + 3 feet (17/3) or 11 feet (not 13.4 feet as per your calculation), but like all large creatures, a dragon does not fill up an entire 10 feet by 10 feet cube.

A 17 Athletics was not high enough, so Malehan Charged and Jumped, but was unsuccessful.

PS. I really thought long and hard over this adjudication and went off and read a lot of threads on the subject, but I don't think that a PC should be able to attack 2 squares up with a DC 10 Athletics check just because he can jump up and just barely grab a 10 foot high ledge with a DC 10 Athletics check. It's also a bit unfair that a 6 foot tall creature can do so with a DC 10, but a 4 foot tall creature requires a DC 25. I prefer that the rules work more or less the same for all PCs. And, every PC here has a ranged or reach attack of some type, so it's not like PCs cannot do anything.

Also, Malehan already used Elven Accuracy here:

Speaking of reach, what would it take for Acre to be able to attack Ladoran with his reach weapon? Can he hit something 10' in the air with reach if he is directly under the target? I'm actually not sure here (forgive me if this is already answered somewhere).

Vex stepped forward a few paces and once again hurled her heavy sword with improbable ease. This time the blade sliced between two of the dragon's scales before returning to Vex- by itself a minor wound, but not the only one.

Being within 2 squares, and yes.

A reach weapon attacks up to 2 squares away in all directions, so Acre can reach Ladoran 10 feet in the air from any square M10 to R10, M15 to R15.

Effectively, PCs with melee weapons without reach can only attack one square away (and up) whereas PCs with melee weapons with reach can attack one or two squares away (and up).
