OOC: NPCing Garrick again.

Seeing an opportunity, Malehan draw his sword and move so he can get a good line. He then starts to move and jump. As he reach his peak, Malehan trust his sword into the dragon and pull it down a few feet before the sword get out of the dragon body. "He is within reach now!"

Knoepf looks up at the beast. Raising his staff he blast the dragon with a ray of silver flame. However, the aim was off and the flame shoots over the dragons left wing. Knoepf, knowing that death draws near, struggles a bit to upright himself and then stands tall and proud, then begins to laugh...At least I've done what has always been my focus and passion...confronting and fighting evil...even if it means my death. You, on the other hand, will soon lose everything you worked for. Already your body is battered. Soon it will be over, your experiement and sacrifices will have failed and you'll be dead. I will rest easy knowing that one of my comrades will be the one who ends your pityfull existance from this world...heh heh heh...HEH HEH EEEHEH...HEH HEEH HEEH...HEH HEH HEH HEH EHEH HEH HEH
The clerics voice penatrates every corner of Ladoren's mind.

Vex stepped forward a few paces and once again hurled her heavy sword with improbable ease. This time the blade sliced between two of the dragon's scales before returning to Vex- by itself a minor wound, but not the only one.

Acre takes another desperate swing at the dragon, reaching high into the air with his greatspear.

The lady continues to fire her arcane missiles.

"The most evil and misguided creature here is you dwarf. You pretend to be good and just, but you travel around with companions who trespass into other creatures homes, kill them on sight, loot their bodies, and steal their possessions. You are the moral equivalent of a politician and think you can judge me. And you cackle like a mad woman. But, don't worry. I will put you out of your misery and when you get in front of your deity, you will find out that the entity that you worship is as hypocritical as you are. It will be a rude awakening for your soul to find out how your religious hierarchy has lied to you all of this time." Ladoran says as he attacks Garrick, Knoepf, and Acre. Garrick and Knoepf duck under the attacks, but Acre gets slammed hard in the chest and starts coughing up blood. Ladoran then flies up out of reach of Acre's spear.

[sblock=OOC]
Malehan misses.

Knoepf misses.

Vex hits Ladoran for 9.

Acre hits Ladoran for 11.

2 does not recharge.

Ladoran misses Garrick, misses Knoepf, and hits Acre for 18.

9+mods misses, 6+mods misses, 19+mods hits for 18.

7 save

Note: Ladoran is hovering 15 feet in the air.

Lady, 31
Ladoran, 201, bloodied, Oath of Enmity by Malehan, Cursed by Garrick, Marked by Garrick
Knoepf 2/50, bloodied
Acre 8/56, bloodied
Garrick 2/57, bloodied, 7 temp hit points
Vex 32/61, regen 5 when bloodied
Malehan 32/62, +2 AC against adjacent enemies, 7 temp hit points

It's the PC's turn.

The two walls to either side of the entrance way go up 15 feet, so someone could climb either the wall or the portcullis and still get out.

The "stairs up" in the corners, at the statue in the middle, and at the far end are difficult terrain. Everything else is normal terrain. The pillar squares holding up the ceiling are a squeeze, but creatures can diagonally move past them with no difficulty.

Note: there is a set of double doors at the south central part of the map which might be not easy to notice right away.

The cleric pauses, absorbing the words of the dragon before he responds. "Looting and trespassing?...killing on sight? I think not. All of my actions were justified and necessary, as they helped us to find you. You are a killer of the innocent. I am quite certain that anything that I have done has the full support of my diety! The cleric blasts the dragon with another ray of silver flame, missing again, this time wide to the right.

action: 1d20+10 vs reflex for 1d6+7 = miss again...maybe Ladoran is right :) Knoepf can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Vex once again threw her massive sword at the dragon- this time the blade flew too low, spinning through the air where the dragon had been a moment before. Once the blade returned to her hands, she took a moment to look around the group- she seemed a bit surprised by how many of her compatriots were badly wounded. "Anyone who can't fight, head for the gate- climb over, slip through, whatever you can." It was obvious that she had no intention of running herself.

Aye Vex, I understand your concern for our safety, but I'm not moving. if I go down...there will be others of my order to follow. The Lady will never let one such as Ladoran continue with his rituals of death. To the others the cleric shouts Vex is right. Save yourselves. I have spent all of my powers to heal. I have nothing left...And this coward will not come down to fight us. Rage and anger flow through cleric as he spits out the last words.

Timing could be better, but...

I'll be out of town for a wedding starting Friday, returning late Tuesday.
Feel free to NPC as needed.

Acre will "go with the flow", should we decide to all die^H^H^H^H^H^H^Herr, stay and fight, flee, or what-have-you.

OOC: NPCed Acre and Garrick. Also, I have limited connectivity over the next few weeks, so I'll try to post when I can, but it may be sporadic.

Malehan, seeing how pointless it is for him to attack a flying dragon, instead decide to run to the altar, but he fumble in the steps and his sword miss the altar he intend to destroy somehow.

Acre moves away and prepares to attack or flee as necessary.

Garrick slams Ladoran with arcane fire, knocking it to the ground.

The Lady continues to fire arcane bolts at Ladoran.

"You will not destoy the altar." the dragon roars. It stands back up and attacks Knoepf, the only foe in reach. Only one claw hits and that one is deflected by Garrick's magic, but it is still enough to take out Knoepf. Ladoran snarls at Garrick "Ok, you first and then the elf."

[sblock=OOC]

Hmmm... Knoepf staggers closer to the dragon, but then fires a bolt of silver flame at the alter instead. If I can't hit you Ladoren, I'll hit your alter instead!

[sblock=actions]
move to m16
attack: sacred flame 1d20+10 vs alter reflex (if it has one) = 24 for 8 points damage and Malehan receives a chance for a saving throw or 5 temp hp.
minor: none

OOC: Yeah, that was my error. I forgot about Garrick's Staggering weapon (which is what happens when a DM has to NPC a PC). So, Knoepf is unconscious. But, you can use the same 14 roll to succeed on the death saving throw.
