Water Genasi

Like the other tempests, the water genasi leader melts before your eyes, rushing through Crush and Serek.

Move: Acid Surge.

Though his movements are awkward, Serek is too slow to dodge out of the way. Appearing whole again before Varis, he attempts to thrust his blade into the half-elf's chest. The thrust wounds Varis, and he realizes that it would be dangerous to ignore this foe (marked by Water Genasi until the end of the encounter).

Standard: Longsword

"Coward!," Crush calls out to the tempest genasi battling Karananak. "The battle's over here! And you, tree creature," he adds, addressing the wilden, "Pull your branches and boughs together. That weakling is no match for you!"

Then turning his attention back to the enemy before him. Crush hews wildly at the other tempest genasi, injuring it somewhat, but leaving himself open to a counter attack. Riaan can see that this is a ruse however, as Crush signals the opening to the arcane swordsman with a slight nod of his head.

Sorry, Varis! Didn't realize you needed help, i thought you wanted it all to yourself. The banter helps Ryk ignore his aches and bruises. He sings a quick Hin folk-chant, and some of Spring's injuries also begin to heal.

Ryk cautiously edges around the water genasi, and without any prompting Spring rushes in from the foe's opposite side. Here, monster! Have some of this! The halfling pokes at the elemental with his tangat but manages to hit only the fluid parts. His distraction allows Spring to leap on the creature and rake its back with both rear claws.

Ryk grins at his ally Crush and decides to show him what a Talenta hunter is made of. He strikes again, and although his blow is blocked, it leaves the genasi defenseless against another swipe of Spring's claws.

Ryk looks ruefully at his tangat. Anyone have a garden hoe? I should trade this blade for one and raise beets for a living.

[sblock=actions]MOVE: Ryk shifts and Spring moves, flanking Water Genasi
MINOR: Invigorate the Beast; Spring recovers 16 HP
STANDARD: Paired Predators - Spring hits and gains 3 THP
ACTION POINT: Synchronized Strike; heal 8 from Crush - Spring hits
note: I cheated Spring out of +1 damage on the first attack, so I added +1 to the second.
note: adjusted HP in the adjudicator (mine, Spring's and monster's) for everything I did; did not adjust for anything done to me before my turn. Is this the right way to do it?[/sblock]

[sblock=if Spring is attacked]Beast Protector: If an enemy makes a melee attack against your beast companion, doing so provokes an opportunity attack from you. [/sblock]
[sblock=if Ryk or Spring is hit]Second Chance (Immediate Interrupt Trigger: an attack hits Ryk (or Spring, thanks to Nimble Companion feat); encounter)
The enemy must roll the attack again and use the second result.[/sblock]

Tempests

Tempest 1:
Move (Shift), Standard (Thundering Earth: Wolf, Karananak)
Tempest 2: Standard (Thundering Earth: Riaan, Crush, Serek, Spring, Water Genasi)

Map

The two tempests move into position where they summon blasts of thunder that wash over most of the group. The first blast misses Karnanak, but his summoned wolf is caught in it and dispelled. The second blast misses Riaan and Crush, but hits Serek and Spring, despite Ryk's attempt to warn his companion. The leader was not prepared for the recklessness of his allies and takes the brunt of the blast (crit for 26 damage).
