(Adventure) Slaying the Dreamer [Judge: Uriel]

"Perhaps I can convince them to follow me," Jack says, "and in the meantime, the remainder of you can make it in through the door.

"I will be back in but a moment."

Jack trots off down the corridor right beneath the noses of the two statues. "Quickly!" he commands them. "Follow me!" Once they they begin to follow, he continues on down the hallway and turns the corner at the end to draw the guardians out of sight.

When what he thought were the 'golem' guardians don't respond, Jack stops and stands there sheepishly for a moment. He opens the door that stands between the statues, and enters, waving for the others to follow.

Fant, seeing Jack wave, will move as stealthily but resolutely as possible forwards, glancing left and right. This is a bad idea... she thinks to herself; she would have preferred if Jack had returned and reported back that they might more carefully determine a course of action. But now that they had commited to to it, there wasn't anything to do but see it through.

ooc: Any word on Mithreander? I haven't seen him posting in a while; are we down to 2?

Quickwhip shrugs when the deversion doesn't work. With natural grace he moves forward to the waving rogue, and looks up to the statues. "Well, I have to say I'm glad that I don't have to fight them." He looks at the woman, and hands her the cloak he had borrowed. "Thank you." he says with a bow and looks at the rogue. "What now?" He looks impassively about, not really worried. He had seen the guards (or at least one of them) and does not feel threatened in the least. Sure the mage may prove to be more of a chellange, perhaps even to much of one, but he was not here at the moment.

When you look a little closer at the statue, you see that its eyes, instead of polished glass, are in fact small gems. You think that for one of those gems, you could buy a Chainmail...

Fant's eye's rest for a moment on the gemstones, while thanking Quickwhip absentmindedly for her cloak, before bringing her mind back to the matter at hand. If all went well, they'd be able to recover those later, and showed poor discipline to take them before the job was finished.

Not that they weren't standing around wasting time anyway, when a guard could come around the corner at any second.

"I assumed you had a plan, Jack," she says quietly, more than a little bit annoyed. "Where to now? The wizard's probably through this door," she jerks her head at the portal flanked by the statues, "But we can't be sure."

ooc: Janos, did you decide whether or not Draven is still with us? He seems to have jumped ship ooc. If he's still "here" IC, Fant will ask him if he can tell us anything about what's behind the door with his god-granted powers (I don't know whether Fant would know of Detect Magic or not; if she does, she'll indicate that).

[Dravin is still 'here', but he's passive: you decide what to do, and he'll tag along (so right now, he's standing next to you). If you want him to do something, he probably will...]
