Varis finishes off the enemies, but the trap is still active and Harresh can't manage to stop it!

The trap fires more dark energy at Haltor and White-Eye, this time catching only Haltor in its attack.

The group scurries back to the hallway and after a few attempts, Harresh and Varis combine their efforts to overcome whatever fell energy Haestus used to activate them and deactivate the trap. Silence again fills the room, only your heavy, laboured breathing is heard.

Ghostly Flame Jets attack (area burst 1) -
vs ref (haltor, white eye); fire; necrotic (1d20+11=21, 1d20+11=13, 1d6+3=9, 1d6+3=8) hits Haltor for 17 damage + 5 ongoing fire/necrotic (save ends)

[sblock=OOC]
You can likely just move to the hallway, as the trap is only active in this room. We'll say combat's over now, and that those taking the ongoing damage make their saves.

Haltor leans heavily against the wall, keeping sharp while Varis fiddles with his magics. The halfling was becoming worn out, and White-Eye was showing even worse wear. That... thing took the gith. That battle was rough, with its dark magics. We have to find him, but I don't know how much longer I can push on.

OOC: Haltor spends 2 HS with healing maximum from the bard to be at 37/37 with 1 HS remaining. Haltor is fine w/ continuing, but 1 more encounter is likely it before he'd like an extended rest.

[sblock=OOC]So that's a level for all the originals. Assuming we'd need an extended rest for that at the least.[/sblock]

So what's everyone's thoughts? Rest? Forge ahead? Explore the room? Return to Sharn?

Additionally, who would like to control the companion PC? Alternatively, we can look to add another PC if you'd rather. evilbob's Shifter Warden may be a good fit... I think he's the only pure defender in the tavern right now. Whichever you guys prefer [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Search the nearby rooms (including the trap room) first. I'm up for resting, but can push on (but not too much longer).

As for recruitment, since we already lost 2 by the time we left the train station, contacts for our recruiter may have noticed this and informed her by message stone. They could then have been riding out to meet us (explaining the delay). I think a defender would be grand.[/sblock]

There's an empty room to the north, and an adjoining bedroom, it's small, but if you moved the desk outside it may make a useful area to rest. Inside the desk are some notes, penned by Haestus d’Cannith, the very specter you were speaking to. The notes are quite difficult to comprehend, but Varis realizes that at the minimum it appears that Haestus was attempting to mingle necromancy into the forges. There also appears to be some mentions about Xen'drik and artifacts from that land and their uses on the creation process to enhance the constructs.

[sblock=ooc]
Just an FYI, the notes are valuable and will represent the parcels for those who will receive n level of gold and also the gold all PC's get per level. Will be awarded at end of adventure.

I spoke to evilbob and he's good to join. So 1 shifter warden coming right up :)

Haltor frowns, the papers making no sense to him. But the beds, the beds he understands. Leaning wearily against the wall, he holds the sheafs out to Varis. Hold on to these; you tall landers find such scribblings valuable. But, this place does look fortifiable, if we rest now.
