[Adventure] The Darkest Night (DM: johnmeier1, Judge: Ozymandias79)

The woman looks at bit surprised at Murphy then burst out laughing. Ha, ha, ya see? They's got it in dere heads to get lil Bella outta hya. She looks over at the man who looks fearful of Murphy and the rest. He drops his head and deflates, defeated. Eh, to 'eck wit 'em. He looks to one of the bare-chested big men and nods. That man lopes in large strides towards the back of the cabin.

The woman nods too. Youse get no trouble from us now. But you best mind those snakefolk and some of our Quileute boys who weren't too fonda Bella. Best head out to the high ground where Jake took the gal to hider. She points off behind the cabin where in the distance you see a tiny rock spire rise over the swamp.

[sblock=Voda Vosa] You saw a group of 4 men leaving the area of the cabin, running at a fast pace in one particular direction as you approached the cabin. You see an old man and woman backed by a large bare-breasted man with a wood axe. They are talking to an odd group: a heavily armored Dragonborn, a shadowy man, a half-elf in chainmail, and a human in wizard robes.

Now is a good time to come on in, describe Sheng again.

Sheng walks towards the cabin, at slow peace, contemplating the panorama with the infinite patience that just the Jadites have.
He walks casually towards the assembled group. Wearing vibrant green and gold yellow silk robes, Sheng sports a pony tail and a fond beard, both black like his penetrating small eyes. His slim features and the green clothing makes him resemble a snake of sorts, and his smile, viperous, helps more to make up the effect. He shows his buying smile to the people there.

"My humble apologies for this interruption." he bows ceremoniously. "I was sent here to assist in the rescue of a certain lady. I was told I was to find adventurers already looking for her; perhaps I had?" he asks smiling again. "If that's so, perhaps I should tell you about the four men, that were running away from here, it might have some meaning to you."

Murphy turns to the newcomer, his eyebrow cocked, "It be odd ta be meetin' someone all tha way out here that be lookin' fir the same thing we be lookin' fer. Whatchu make of 'im Janus? He be on the up and up?" he asks, his slender frame standing poised on the balls of his feet, ready to react if his arcane ally tells him of any falsehood.

"It is the odd meetings that are the most interesting, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sheng of the Zim Clan" he makes a formal salutation from the Kingdom of Jade, a ceremoniously bow and hand move.

Shorrin turns his head slightly to eye the newcomer. He dismisses him quickly and turns back to the man that had grabbed the weapon earlier. No point in trusting someone who was willing to fight a moment ago...

Dextyr is about to respond to the old woman when the strange man appears out of the woods. He looks over the man and scratches his chin for a moment. With a slight puff of greenish smoke a small imp appears on his shoulder and whispers into his ear as Murphy questions the man. Dextyr nods his head in agreement and then they both look over at the newcomer.

"Greetings stranger. I am Dextyr M'rgan, and my comrades and I are indeed in search of such a missing girl, Isabella by name. I also must agree that it is very odd indeed that you just happened to cross our path and claim to be sent here to aid us." Dextyr rubs his chin once more while in thought before continuing. The Imp once again whispers in his ear and a slight smile crosses his lips for just a moment. "So I must ask, why did James and Margret feel the need to send another to aid in the rescue of their daughter?" Dextyr asks leaving the question hanging in the air, not even glancing at the others as to give away the snare he just laid.

[sblock=OOC]
Yes, I know that Isabella's parents names are not James and Margret, this is a test for the strange newcomer. I am not sure if I needed a bluff roll for that or not, but if I do just let me know. I do not see it out of character to be slightly suspicious of a stranger walking out of the woods claiming he was sent to help us out. Not trying to stir any inter-party hostilities, just trying to react in character. Either way, should be fun. Welcome to the group Voda Vosa :-)

Janus watches the newcomer interestingly as he makes his introductions, Furi-Zu's head pops out of his robes as the mention the Zim clan, tounge flicking the air expectantly.

Janus nods to Sheng, his fellow country man. Then shrugs to Murphy, "Not sure, my dastardly friend. He seems pleasent enough, though the clans of my country can be a triffle testy. I see know reson to not trust his word." With that Janus's attention returns to the stange family.

"I do not know of whom you speak, I was hired by a her lover, of sorts. He gave me a scroll to teleport nearby." explains Sheng plainly. He bows back to Janus. "Your courtesy and trust shall not be forgotten, brother. Despite I carry the name of my clan I hold no allegiances with it. I'm one of its last members. Shamefully I had to kill one of our last women, when she sold her soul to the Onis." The monk remains still a moment. "I must ask, have any of you meet another member of my clan? It is imperative I contact with them."

Janus turns to the new comer then back to the house, shrugs, turns back again.

"I am from a remote part of the Empire and spent my adolesence sequestered with my master in study. I have heard of your clan, of all clans for that matter, yet I have never encountered one of your kind. Even during my sojourn aboard the ships of the local coastal garrison, I did but encounter one or two members of clans and then only in passing.
We will talk later, our attention should be on the trouble to our front."

Janus talks fast and in the language of his homeland, so as to present a united team as opposed to strangers thrown together.

Murphy watches the duo speaking a language he didn't understand and grew increasingly frustrated. "So are ya gonna sit there all day and talk about tha rain or can we go and maybe try ta find that girl ya say yer lookin' fer?" Murphy says.
