(Adventure) The Island of Varras'zul (Manzanita Judging) (Concluded)

Razh takes a deep breath as the gashes in his body close tighter. He sighs with small relief, and looks at the doors. "Ah know it isn't like meh, but there's got t'be another way to open those blasted doors. Ah hate to say it, but Ah agree with Ogrin, we shouldn't waste magic and health tryin' t'beat 'em down unless we have to." He looks down at his axes. "On the other 'and, Ah do like t'smash things." He grins.

Ogrin ponders. "I never thought I'd say this either, but there's wisdom in Rasereits words. Let's search the walls for some kind of hidden release mechanism. We could also try searching for hidden doors on the wall on the right side of the big doors outside this room - this might just be a decoy."

"Well, that's certainly a possibility, and we have nothing to lose but time, so why not?", Nezrak says.

OOC: Nezrak has +6 search.

oog: For the whole party to search all the red areas (with no overlapping searches), it will take 20 minutes. If you want to take twenty to search just the red area inside the room with the small metal door, it will take 4 minutes.

oog2: Assuming the four minute choice was taken...

The party searched the walls and shelves high and low. But they did not find any hidden release mechanism.

"Hmm... I suppose if they really wanted no one to enter that room, they wouldn't have put a hidden release mecha- umm, secret lever." Mona mused.

OOG: I'm confused. Which room are the big trapped doors in? And have we tried to open it? And have we tried both doors surrounded by red stuff, or what?

oog: The trapped door is the small metal door.

oog2: The party has decided against opening the big doors for now because of the dire warnings on the darkness emanating pedestal

Razh grunts with frustration. "Well, that's what Ah get fer bein' pragmatic, eh? Let's get t'smashin'! Nezrak, mate, juice me up." He grabs his waraxe, bears down, and closes his eyes, preparing for the wave of unpleasant magic that bothers him so much.

"Sure. If the trap triggers, let's just leave the door be.", Nezrak says and casts Enlarge Person at Rasereit. He'll delay casting the other spell (if the trap doesn't trigger), until the first one has worn off, since they're in no big hurry.

After getting into position about ten feet from the door, Nezrak cast his spell upon Razh. Elven magic effused from Nezrak's hand into the dwarf's form, transmuting the stout barbarian into a giant.

oog: wondering if you're going to do anything special, like rage or hold your weapon
two handed or something.
