With no threat of attack from any of the minions now that they are all dead, Lo-Kag sees an chance to subdue the fire and acts on it. Sifting his sword to his off hand he grabs a fresh corpse with his other hand and heaves it on top of an open flame of the fire with the intent smother it.

Move action (if nessary) athletics 1d20+2=12 (well i hope i can just "hang out")

Quickly wiping the blood of his axe Grryth tucks away his off-hand axe and and strides over to aid Masumi. He grabs her by the arm and pulls her back inside the railcar.

Not sure what skill you'd want here - Athletics maybe? If so here it is;1d20+12=15

[sblock=Skill Checks] Hey all, when you make your skill checks (just for my sake) please indicate which skill challenge you are using a skill for.

THB: Go ahead and roll your Athletics check in the dice room (see link in my previous post)

Dimsdale: The roll would be Athletics, so go ahead and go into the dice room and roll an athletics check.

hornedturtle: You don't need to get up if you don't want to, but you did need to roll an athletics check to hang on (DC 10), which you passed.

Grryth: Using your turn and athletics check to help out a team mate, awesome! The check is only DC 15, which you pass. Good team-work!

[/sblock]

ooc: No need to link to the specific roll, as I can simply log into the room to check your rolls. If you wanted to link to the room (just copy everything in the URL bar at the top of your browser, it should be pretty short), that would be cool, but not strictly necessary as long as you tell me you rolled in the room.

With a mighty grunt, Lo-Kag throws the lifeless body forward towards the flickering flames of the fire.

Gurdan rouses, picks himself (OOC: Stand), and gets his bearings.

"Gah!" he shouts as he spots the train in the distance. "You get back back over here! I wasn't done with you yet!" Gurdan hauls his frame toward the locomotive (OOC: Gurdan will chase after the train with his other action - if it is possible to get on it with an athletics check, he will do so (go ahead and roll for him))

Just how tough can this guy be? Well, it looks that I'm not doing any good trying to deal with the fire so I'd better focus on squashing some metallic vermin.

Thanks... Alexia severs the link between herself and the elemental. "...and sorry." she mutters.

Alexia turns to see Garrick struggling with the fire. She rushes over to her companion and takes the bedroll from his hands. "Let me handle this; see if you can stop the fire in the engine. I think I've done all that I can."

Drawing on the inner strength of her...condition... Alexia takes the bedroll away from Garrick and bats out some of the flames on the east side of the train. The fire wasn't entirely put out, but it was a good way towards that goal!

While Alexia is busying herself with the fire, Masumi holds on to the side of the lightning rail with everything she has and casts eyebite on the cursed Tracker. Unfortunately, just as her eyes fill with the illusory magic and begin to glow, the rail hits a bump and it causes her to turn her head at the last moment, only grazing Tracker with it's energy, which he willfully discharges without effect.

Quickly wiping off the blood of his axe, Grryth tucks away his off-hand axe and and strides over to aid Masumi. He grabs her by the arm and pulls her back inside the rail car like she were a rag doll.

With no threat of attack from any of the minions now that they are all dead, Lo-Kag sees an chance to subdue the fire and acts on it. Sifting his sword to his off hand he grabs a fresh corpse with his other hand and heaves it on top of an open flame of the fire with the intent smother it. The body, and more importantly it's leather armor, snuffs out a flame against part of the western wall. Between the two of them, Lo-Kag and Alexia were going a great job of keeping the fire at bay!

Gurdan rouses, picks himself up, and gets his bearings.

"Gah!" he shouts as he spots the train in the distance. "You get back back over here! I wasn't done with you yet!" Gurdan hauls his frame toward the locomotive, makes a daring jump from ten feet away, and crashes through the back door of the rear cabin. Dozens of scared passengers are crowded inside the train, and you notice Gurdis in the middle. They all seem to be in the back cabin because of the engine fire.

[sblock=Athletics check] Gurdan rolled a 17 Athletics check, succeeding in pulling himself aboard the train. [/sblock]

The bolts of arcane energy nail Tracker squarely and it is only the elemental safety elements that keep him inside of his vehicle.

[sblock=Garrick/Otakkun] Just so you know, your Eldritch Blast power is actually against REFLEX, not AC. Makes a big difference depending on who you attack (and in general [but not always]) it's 3 - 5 points lower than AC.[/sblock]

Cursing loudly, Tracker points the elemental cannon at the train engine once more and fires a shot, and even those not familiar with the arcane arts can feel the elemental rampaging within the engine.

"YOU SAID STOP! WHY YOU HURT ME!? NOW ME MAD!!"

The engine bursts into flames, even higher than were there originally and threaten to eradicate the engine itself.

Tracker drives the elemental cart as fast as he can away from the elemental train.

"You haven't defeated me yet! You'll never see Daskaran alive! NEVER!"

As Tracker flies away in the elemental cart, a hole in the side of the engine bursts open and a large gout of flame engulfs the PCs cabin, catching the second cabin on fire as well!

You can hear the screams of the passengers as the flames start creeping towards them. All of a sudden, the captain of the rail engine bursts into the PC's cabin and assesses the situation. He is a lithe half-elf in full uniform, a pant and coat set in a dark grey.

"This fire is getting out of control! Help me put it out!"

[sblock=Skill Challenges]

With the engine bursting open in flame, I am resetting the skill challenges, but don't worry, your success in the last round are not in vain.

Alexia: You regain the ability to use Diplomacy and Bluff on the engine for Skill Challenge 1.

Garrick/Lo-Kag: Each of you gain a +2 bonus to your next skill challenge attempt for Skill Challenge 2

The 2nd rail cabin has caught on fire! This means it's time for SKILL CHALLENGE 3!

Here's what that means:

The fire damage is raging out of control: Ongoing damage to anyone inside of a burning rail cabin (PC cabin or the one to the south) increased to Ongoing 5.

This will go back down to Ongoing 2 when Skill Challenge 2 or 3 has been successfully completed, and then only those in the burning cabin will take the ongoing damage.

If you fail Skill Challenge 3, The final rail cabin will catch on fire, and the rail passengers will start dying off (they are all minions). I will have them roll a Fort Save (DC of 10+# of total Skill Challenge failures).

Skill Challenge 1: 0/6 Successes 0/3 Fails
Skill Challenge 2: 0/6 Successes 0/3 Fails
Skill Challenge 3: 0/6 Successes 0/3 Fails

Also, since the captain has come out, he can help ONE of you each round with the skill challenge. Treat this as a free action boost to ONE skill check that can be used by anyone in the party (but only once) in each round. The bonus is +2.

GOOD LUCK!
