Smiling warmly at the amiable shifter, Lanharath responds to the mental query.

"We took the time to really take a look at everything around here while Abram spoke. Unless that dangerous something is very small, a practiced thief or expertly placed trap, and hidden by magic, all at once, then we are confident to say that there is nothing of immediate danger here. When we get into the barn, we will look again and try to see if there is anything magical in the area...

River, we have not spoken much, you and ourselves, but we just wanted to say 'thank you', for you have been a very kind and trustworthy companion, even if our morals and ethics do not always match up."

"It seems to be that the shifter and the drow have silver tongues. This may be an an advantage to us, as they can speak freely for us while we determine the true nature of the farmer."

"My tongue is made of silver as well my friend, even if you only see it when I eat or drink. Your wisdom shows no bounds. I shall stay silent, playing the role of the dumb warrior, and keep my eyes and ears open for falsehoods."

[He then cross the eyes of Valahad Do you think he is hiding something to us?

Valahad listens intently, focusing on the man's speech and body language, trying not to make direct eye contact. Admittably, he does too good of a job trying to make it look like he wasn't paying attention.

[sblock=Insight]Nat 1! Still and 18 though. insight vs farmer (1d20+17=18) [/sblock]

Sheeva tries to help the group gain information from this man:

"Pray tell me more of this man who looked like me. Can you give me a more detailed description of him? My people are from a far off land and it is very rare to find someone from home. I would like to speak with him and talk of our shared homeland." Sheeva says.

Sure, use up all my good 20s for skill rolls. :lol:

"You just need to air your barn out good sir." Sheeva laughs pleasantly and places her hand on the man's shoulder to set him at ease.

"Here is your gold piece for rent. Tell me, did that other dark man stay in your barn as well?" Sheeva hands him the coin.

So do we just subtract money from our character sheet or what?

Thrustful enough, River only rely on his natural Empathy to see any lies.

[SBLOCK=OOC] Passive Insight: 21[/SBLOCK]

River let's Sheeva talk and send a new message to Lanharath. It is natural. Acting any other way would be against my principles and the Host will. And I am well aware that my pacific way is an utopia in a world such as our, but by being an example, I might change it for the best, even if it is slightly.

Pok pulls a gold piece out of a fold of his robes, and a tiny dragon, also gold. The small golden dragon takes the GP from the gnome, and walks it to the farmer, doing a small jig, and a half-bow, before craning his neck to extend the piece of gold toward the man. When the farmer goes to take the gold, a small puff of smoke and fire emanates from the dragon, and the piece of gold becomes warm, pleasantly warm, to the touch.

During all this, Pok thinks toward Lan, and then Valahad, *Traveling at night?* his persistence in the matter has obvious origins...

Lanharath nods at the gnomes suggestion.

"Traveling at night may be the best option, though we have already paid for the farmers hospitality. If the group wishes to press on, then we should do so immediately, as we may be able to catch up to the paladin sooner if we travel both at night and during the day. Being that we are on horses, we can simply tie each horse to another one to prevent wandering, and then we can sleep in shifts while still riding."

*Lanharath, that money could just as easily be the down-payment on a wagon, or information and food. The horses could pull in shifts and get rest, and we could post watch in shifts. * the gnome seems excited about the prospect of making the journey shorter, as it meant being able to check on Roswyn even sooner.

Pok looks toward River,
How do you feel River, could you press on? It sounds as if we may be better served in pressing forward.

[sblock=OOC]

It sounds like we are really amping up the endurance check there, maybe if someone scores high enough (20+ or something), they can aid someone whom they think weaker as a separate roll...

Perception checks get more difficult as well.

Or we could buy a wagon, Pok would spring for that. His head has bounced enough as is... And he could hide in the wagon.

[SBLOCK=OOC]By the way, if you have read my post, River have paid the 5 gp already. If you want to give it more, go on, but eb aware that the farmer have his gold.[/SBLOCK]

RE: Endurance Checks: I believe that is why we have the ability to use HEAL to lower the Endurance check on someone who is sucking wind.

RE: Perception Checks: Even in complete darkness... Lanharath has a +7 Perception and gets the better of 2 d20 rolls. I don't think we will have perception issues. I'll just have Lan take all of the night shifts so that we don't get into any serious problems due to bad night-time perception checks.

[SBLOCK=OOC]I think:

First turn of skill challenge 1: we all roll an endurence check because we travel.
Second turn: We can roll Heal check to reduce penalty for further endurence check, but we don't roll it because we don't travel.
Third turn: I think we will be heading west, so we will be travelling, and thus, we will need to roll endurence.[/SBLOCK]
