[Adventure] Trouble in Moonwatch (Judge:TwoHeadsBarking)

Valahad turns his head towards Sheeva in frustration. The kalashtar speaks in the mind of Feall. "Don't worry, these are our enemies. I could use a flank here, if you don't mind."

"Pok! Some light!"

"You lie. Khyber's taint has overtaken your mind. The Age turns, be purified!" Striking out at Scar, the kalashtar feints low and spins, aiming a spinning backhand slice at the warriors bicep, the blow (combined with River's attack) knocks the man over.

The scarred man looks around incredulously at the assault from the shifter and the kalashter. "Then you shall burn in the Flames!" he vows from the ground.

*Consider it done Valahad.* Pok lights up Valahad's sword, shining bright light floods the pit. The gnome slips away from the battle, and begins circling around to flank.

The scarred man's anger grows as he stands up to look directly into Valahad's eyes. The madness and hate behind those orbs is startling and it launches a flurry of minor stabs and slashes that leave the paladin's defenses weakened. Sensing the opportunity, he thrusts the tip into Val's leg, although much of the blow was absorbed by River's aid.

[sblock=ooc]
*Every enemy have -2 to defences and they are prone if they are hit by any attack. That last until the end of River's next turn.

Scar stands up (move), launches a few feints at Valahad (grants CA), then attacks & hits for 11 (screwed up attack roll, forgot -2 to hit, but it still hits)

I've created a room for this game under Moonwatch. Please roll dice there until IC is back up. Not the best, but better than nothing. Just a reminder for Valahad and Lan, I don't believe a light source has been created yet, so you should treat all other creatures as having concealment from you (-2 to hit)

Columns: These stone columns provide cover and can be climbed with a DC 10 Athletics check.

Trees: Gnarled spruce surround the ruins, their trunks providing cover. Their thick foliage grants total concealment and is difficult terrain. A tree can be climbed with a DC 10 Athletics check.

Foundation Pit: This rubble-strewn pit stands 5 feet below the surrounding terrain. Jumping into the pit costs 2 squares of movement.

Stairs: The rubble-choked stairs are difficult terrain.

Rubble Slope: This mass of gravel and scree is difficult terrain. Any character descending the rubble slope must make a DC 18 Acrobatics check or fall prone at the slope’s bottom edge.

"Sorry River, guess they want to fight instead of talk. We'll have to sort it out later." Sheeva says.

"Ok Khyber pawn, come play in my darkness. It's lightning will only hurt a little." Sheeva laughs.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor Action = Cloud of Darkness
Standard Action = Lightning Strike on bow3, if it hits, 4 more damage on bow1
Move Action = Move to M12 and Stealth

None of this damage will be used to kill these guys, only knock them unconscious.

25 to hit bow3 and 19 damage (forgot CA when I used the dice roller)
4 damage to bow1

18 Stealth roll, I'm hoping that there might be bonuses to that due to the noise of combat.

Sheeva won't take an Opportunity Attack if presented by bow1.

With relief from the Tiefling, Lanharath carefully dodges a mass of writhing tentacles, stepping towards his companions. His sword flashes, causing the tentacles to pause for just a second; enough time for Lan to slip another few steps towards his friends. The creature, still affected by his divine command, slinks towards Lan.

"Il-Yannah guides our blades and our minds, foul creature, and we WILL strike you down!"

[sblock=Actions]
- Move: Shift to I-7
- Standard: Use Pass at Arms against the tentacles, hitting AC 31 for 19 damage, and Lan shifts to J-8 as a free action, sliding the tentacles to H/I-7/8.
[/sblock]
[sblock=Bonuses] Since Lan is adjacent to his oath of enmity (the tentacles), ANYONE who attacks the tentacles will gain a +1 damage bonus (Divine Distraction feat). I have a minor action left, which I'd like to use on my Loyal Sanction power (gives one of my allies w/in 5 squares of Lan (that's everyone) a +5 damage bonus if they attack my Oath of Enmity). That would be a total +6 damage bonus. I also have my Divine Guidance power (immediate interrupt on my part to allow an attack re-roll if they attack my Oath of Enmity).

So in short, if anyone would like to attack the tentacles with a +6 damage bonus and a guaranteed re-roll of the attack (if needed), let me know and I'll update my post with the Minor action. If you DO take me up on my offer, feel free to point out (in your post) that Kalidrev uses his immediate interrupt to give you a re-roll!

NOTE: The damage bonus for Loyal Sanction lasts until the end of Lan's next turn... so if you were to spend an Action Point to attack the tentacles, you would get the +6 damage bonus on THAT attack too!! So if you take me up on my offer and "go nova" on the tentacles, let me know so I can update my post, then you can attack the creature with the +6 damage bonus, then AP another attack with a +6 damage bonus, using Lan's immediate interrupt on either of the attacks as needed to make them (or at least attempt to make them) both hit![/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] LOL, sorry, was just trying to keep things moving, guess I read the init order wrong. You can move things in my post around to fit the situation if things change R1 [/sblock]

"Sorry River, guess they want to fight instead of talk. We'll have to sort it out later." Sheeva says.

"Ok Khyber pawn, come play in my darkness. It's lightning will only hurt a little." Sheeva laughs. The force of the lightning knocks both females onto their backs.

The female next to River shakes the cobwebs out of her head and stabs River with her blade, the wound is vicious and the shifter is seeing spots from the blood loss.

The other female stands up and is in a cloud of darkness, she cries "I'm blind!" as she runs out of the area and then continues with her momentum seeing that she's not indeed blinded. Her strike against Valahad is clumsy though and hits the rubble floor.

The tiefling stabs Lanharath hard again and then steps away as the tentacles close in. The dark creatures tentacle mouths open wide as a trio of arms wrap around the avenger, their teeth tearing large holes in him and the pain and blood loss is too much for Lanharath as he slips into unconsciousness, still in the clutches of the foe.

Bow 3 stands and attacks River with CA, hit for 14 damage

Bow 1 stands up, charges Val, misses

Tiefling stabs Lan - hits for 18 damage then steps back

Tentacles crits Lan for 18 damage and you're grabbed... and dying... ouch.

"It worked." Sheeva says from the darkness after bow1 moves.

"Move out of the way River and I can blast all three."

[sblock=OOC]Actions remain as previously stated.[/sblock]

*flick*

Another shadowy veil settles over the Tiefling menacing Lan. He moans in fear and looks around wildly as though suddenly surrounded by foes and falls to the ground, clutching at wounds no one else can see.

Feall blinks from existence and reappears immediately in a perfect position to distract Scar, allowing Val to recover from the vicious attack and launch a counter.

The purple fire coruscating around the Tiefling winks out, leaving him to lick his wounds in the shadows.

"River, Lan's in trouble!"

[sblock=OOC]Free: Assassin's Veil on Tiefling.

Standard: Nightmare Shades (TH: 21 vs. Will - forgot we still get CA due to Darkfire) on Tiefling. Damage 31 (Really messed this one up, rolled d20 rather than 2d8. Breakdown is (NMShades) 2d8=8, (Veils) 2d6=12, +11). He falls prone (if previously hit by River's Hymn of Resurgence).

Move: Shadow Step to K11.

Darkfire on Tiefling ends.
