Valahad speaks softly in the mind of Sheeva, almost so she thinks it's her own thoughts. "Once again we are assuming they have allies nearby, and they meant to find us. Perhaps they were travelling like we were, seeking shelter for the night, taking an appropriate form that they had encountered already."

"I think the Flamists are already dead. Of course, I don't know for sure, which is why we should continue on in the morning. Things don't look good now."

[sblock=OOC]Sorry, I didn't see that this message was to Sheeva. Note: Sheeva is telepathically talking back to Val here.[/sblock]

*Are you willing to take that chance Val? On an assumption? What would il-Yannah have you do? Search out foes, or wait for them to find you? If there are no enemies nearby, what does it hurt to look for them? If they are there, then how does it make sense to give them the advantage by waiting? Where is your strong sword arm in the dark? Pillowing your head as you sleep, or rooting out evil? I came here to help out the Flamists and I won't be stopped by the night or by those who truly do not want to help them. I see an opportunity to at least capture the Tiefling and possibly a chance to save the Flamists. I do not understand why Pok does not want to capture the Tiefling or help the Flamists. Or why he tries to spread fear and suspicion through our ranks. The dark of night is not your true enemy Val. Your true enemy is apathy and not doing what is right when it is needed. You can come root out the evil if it is nearby, or you can listen in the night while I fight and possibly die against the cultists alone. Your choice. Evil wins when good men fail to act. I already know what type of man Pok is. What type of man are you Val?*

Thank you for the reassurance Feall, Pok softly speaks, I'm weary, the gnome manages to gesture intricately, and begin walking toward the male Drow, Valahad's armor is heavily reduced in grime. Your eyes are sharpest at night, and you've survived alone in the woods before, now prove your skill again, and lead us opposite the fleeing Tiefling, we must begin preparations for an assault. Pok arrives at Feall's feet, and pats the Drow on his thick legs.

The gnome then glances back at River, The insults of Khyber/Flamists should bear no weight on your shoulders, River has acted justly. River's people are no more monstrous than mine.

Feall looks after the departing Sheeva.

I said I won't balk her publicly, but it's suicide to go off without the group. I trust Val and River . . . Pok's going to take some getting used to, but his heart seems in the right place.

He turns a sad gaze to the little Gnome. "I'm more a city boy, actually. But I'll do what I can, Pok."

He widens his attention to include Val and River. "Shall we search out a place to shelter and rest? Is there a way we can leave a trail for Sheeva in case she decides to return to us? One that won't bring the Khyber down on us as well?"

"My assumption is no different than yours. If the tiefling had allies nearby, they would already be here to take the attack to us. They would have surely heard the conflict as it started. Then there is the question is why they would seperate in the first place. This land is deadly and there is strength in numbers. Pok sees, as does the rest of us, that our best option is to rest and hide during the darkness, all of us together. I cannot fight of which I can't see, no matter how bright il-Yannah's light. You see only the immediate, I plan for the future. I know you wish to do good, will you see the wisdom in this plan and rejoin us."

*I make no assumptions. I'm going out to see if the enemy is close or not. I do not assume that the enemy is not there if not within earshot like you. And, there is no need for immediate rest. The terrain here was easy to negotiate, even for a city girl like me. What kind of heroes go to bed because it is dark? When there was no known foes, Pok wanted to travel at night. Now that the Tiefling is out there, he wants to camp out in the open. I do not understand him. And, do you not own a torch? Did Pok not light up the night with his spell? Your plan sounds like the fears of an old woman. You hunker down in a pit instead of checking the surrounding area. At this very moment, the light you see by might attract all types of foes, but you don't even notice. And, a storm might be coming in which could wipe out any tracks. You plan, but you do not act. You have determined your course of action and I have determined mine. I'll be back when I am done scouting. And with the rest of you staying, the Tiefling might just assume that we are not following.* Sheeva leaves, walking through the trees where foes would have a hard time spotting her.

[sblock=OOC]renau1g indicated that the terrain was easy to negotiate and that thunderclouds were on the horizon back in mid-November.[/sblock]

"Very well. We'll have to agree to disagree then. You have made your choice, we have made ours. We will seek a place to rest. If trouble finds you, make some light. I will come to find you."

River seems unsure but after a moment, he replies, "Fine, my body still can continue, but I must confess my faith will gladly take some time to heal. Let's find a safe place. Sheeva, may the Host watch over you will you are scouting."

[SBLOCK=OOC]Holiday finished, back to normal rhythm of posts.[/SBLOCK]

Pok draws his hood lower, A trail for Sheeva is a trail for Khyber is a trail for anyone. Best to cover our tracks, and find a good defensible position, maybe even sleep in the trees. Pok remembers the weight of everyone in the group, Well not in a tree, but you get my meaning. Pok shifts closer to Valahad every few words, until he is hiding behind the Kalashtar. I still think it may be to our benefit to attempt sneaking into a town under disguise, and get real beds. We've got outfits, Pok casts light upon one of the changelings outfits, snuffing the light almost in the same instant. What's the decision then?

Sheeva will head along the edge of the road. If there are trees or vegetation there, she will use them as cover. I'm assuming that at this elevation, it is mostly scrub type plants. She is expecting anything interesting to be on the road, but will look down side trails or clearing if she comes across them. She will go no more than 3 miles out and will head back after about 1.5 hours. If it looks like that storm is going to come in early, she will also head back. Her passive perception is 12, let me know if she has to roll a perception roll.

You are traveling through the brush with relative ease, the night is cool, but not uncomfortably so. The sounds of crickets and other night insects are heard, but you aren't distracted by them, intent on finding the path of the tiefling.

ooc - are you moving stealthily? If so, please make a stealth check.

So you planning to try and locate a settlement? Find a wayward pine (sorry too much Sword of Truth lately) or some other rest location? I think it's been established you're going to be resting so just need to know where and any precautions/watches you're setting.[/sblock]
