"There's no guarantee that they will follow you." Sheeva says.

"Another possibility is for Val and River to be bait. The rest of us are stealthy. All of us move in semi-close like you said, but not close enough to be heard. Then us more stealthy people move the rest of the way up the main trail and set up an ambush. A few minutes later, Val and River come up the trail carrying light sources. Those creatures are bound to check that out and when they do, we'll be watching. Pok can be with either group depending on what works best for him. Feall, you could even scout that camp first if you think you can manage that without being noticed.

"That will work for me," says in the minds of the group members, affirming Sheeva's plan. Then speaking just to Feall, "If you wish to investigate and you can get close, can you look in the tents? I'd like to know if there are any innocents that would complicate things."

[sblock=r1]Do you have a preference for waiting to have access to the new dailies until after the extended rest?[/sblock]

"This works for me as well. And I can try to check for innocents, but only at the risk of tipping our hand. What are the chances these monsters are keeping hostages alive?"

"Anything is possible. I don't think hostages would be in the tents. We could sneak up close and hide across the trail from the path, then you could sneak in closer and look for hostages, and then come back. If you find any, you could stay near the tents to protect them."

Fuming the entire conversation long, Pok kept his tongue, and his mind, to himself. I'll send my skunk into the tents, he'll be able to report more accurate information. After that, stealthy people gain advantageous positions, and then loud folks spring the ambush. I doubt my skunk will even be noticed, much less cared about.

A small skunk haltingly crawls down Pok's leg and stands up on it's back feet, sniffing at the air. Black all over with two distinct white stripes down it's back. It notices other people and stomps in their direction, bending it's body, threatening to spray. The skunks tail flies up into the air, straight up, hair standing on end. It stomps the ground twice more, and scratches the dirt pulling back with both paws.

The little mephitis squeaks a bit at Pok, and then dashes off in the direction of Sheeva's tracks.

[sblock=OOC]

Skunk Scout Homunculus will go to check inside tents,
first stealth roll 35 .
second 34 if needed.

Sheeva will take a short rest while Pok's skunk is off prowling.

"Too bad you didn't send him out long ago. Would have saved us all a lot of time and effort. Let us know when the little stinker is back Pok. Little Stinker. Perfect name." Sheeva laughs, the first time since Lan disappeared.

"I think the best would be Valahad and I are the bait. Val is resilient enough to hold, and I can keep us standing the time we get in a more defensive position if needed after the surprise attack have fallen on them. But with the survivor, they might not fall in the trap either. They are aware we were six against them." replies River.

[sblock=ooc] Aww maaaan! Another battle and I don't even get to have some fun! harumph. I guess that's what I get for retiring Lan... R1... probably not the best place or time to introduce a new character, but do you see any compelling reason for Kortauhk to come into the scene here?[/sblock]
