Advice request - CG Paladin'ish class/pc

I am looking into creating an elven prince player character, who has decided to broaden his horizons by leaving his homeland to explore the bordering nations. I feel this character would be a staunch defender of the land and his people. He would be very honorable and full of pride. I think in many ways a paladin class would fit this character well, but perhaps is not the exact class I am looking for.

I am basically looking to play the character as a CG character with Lawful tendancies.

Can anyone recommend a sourcebook that might be helpful in my design of this character? Ideally I am looking for any suggestions regarding optional classes / prestige classes from sourcebooks other than the PHB.

I think the ideal class would be a "Chaotic Good Paladin" class. (If such a thing exists).

Simple recommendations:
- Multiclass Cleric/Fighter.
- UA Variant: CG Paladin.
- "Holy Liberator" Prestige Class from Defenders of the Faith. (Basically a CG Paladin type with more specific flavor, works best in conjunction with UA Variant: Prestigious Class Paladin).

There is a chaotic good paladin varient in Dragon Magazine issue 310. Along with neutral good.....Evil paladins are in 313 in case you need them...

Thanks guys, I looked at Dragon 310 and found the "Sentinel" which is a NG Paladin which is much more fitting for my character. I don't have the Races of the Wild, so I don't know if it contains an "elven noble" or "elvin paladin" template / class in there.

Chaotic with Lawful tendancies? Sorry that does not compute. Neutral with Lawful or Chaotic I might buy not polar opposites.

Lawful clerics can't cast Chaotic spells and vice versa so they don't mix at all.

I thought the same thing.

I use the paladin class variants in the SRD as a DM, covers the extreme alignments. I never was much for forcing a class into one specific alignment.

It's got the Champion of Corellon, which is a pretty paladin-like elven PrC.
