AEG's 'WAR', anybody got opinions?

I don't want Chainmail. I want rules for battles of armies and nations at war. I have been waiting for 'Fields of Blood: The Book of War' from Eden studios to come out, but I saw 'War' by AEG on the shelf in my local game shop the other night. Flipping through it I just couldn't get a good idea of what was contained within for some reason. I saw new skill uses, new feats, and new Prestige classes, but that's all I remember.

Does anyone have this one yet or have some good knowledge of the product to give me (and the others reading) more info on it?

It's got everything you rewmember, LOL, plus everything you ever wanted to know about war and seiges. There is a mass combat system included, but I couldn't figure it out any better than the one in Mongoose's Quintessential Fighter. AEG's WAR is their best 3e sourcebook yet. There are some cool feats and prestige classes, interesting new skill uses, and the war and seige sections are great and very detailed. I bought it and it's one of my favorite new books.

War is ok

I found way to much useless fluff. I mean do we really need several pages on how religious disagreements can cause war. I can just read the morning paper.

Except for Prestigue classes, not much in the way of crunchy bits (and a big font to boot). Multiple editing mistakes (such as Trebuchets doing 1,250 gp of damage), and the mass combat system was only about six pages long. Way less complete than the one from the old Cyclopedia.

If you like the other books in this series you'll probably like this one. They are fairly similar in type of content. I probably won't buy anymore after this one.
