Agile Opportunist lets you make a melee basic attack as an opportunity action. But that is different from making an opportunity attack.

This is my reading as well.

From what I've seen, an Opportunity Action to make a melee basic attack is not the same as an Opportunity Attack.

I have to agree.

Overall Agile Opportunist is a bit of a problem feat. Either you interpret it to allow allies forced movement to trigger, or you don't. The upshot is either it is somewhat abusable or it is practically worthless. Both allowing it to work on allies forced moves AND trigger HBO is over the top. Sliding rangers around with your bard and letting them launch Twin Strikes is way too good for one feat.

It is a problem (a huge problem if your group has a Cunning Bard).

Under the nerfed interpretation, it's weak -- I wouldn't call it worthless because some DMs love forced-movement monsters, traps, terrain features, etc. -- but it's at worst still situationally useful.
