If you're looking for players in the Capital District, you might try hooking up eith people at Genericon. I got a little blurb in the mail the other day.
Genericon, RPI's Gaming, Science Fiction and Anime convention in Troy,NY (near Albany) is excited to announce that we will once again be offering RPGA events at Genericon XVII, January 16-18th 2004 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Instute in Troy NY.

I know that you're not looking for RPGA play but there should be a decent amount of gamers to network with.

I'm planning on visiting Genericon this year. I haven't played in a RPGA game for a while. I'll have to bring a few people who are good at networking because that is not my strong point.

Sounds like we have some interest. Looks like March might be good.

We've had the offer of the use of a house and garage for gaming purposes. While the garage requires warmer temperatures, that is still 3-5 gaming areas.

I think we've got enought feed back to go ahead. I'm thinking some time in Feb/March. I'll update the thread when things get closer.

If anyone else wants to show interest feel free to do so. Its never too late.

I live in Columbia County so as long as I don't end up having to do something else there's no reason I couldn't show up.
