Glad to see that this thread is still going. Unfortunately I won't be able to come (I had previously said I would come and run some Steve Jackson games). I have found out that the one local con that we have here on Long Island is the same weekend. Good luck and hopefully I can get in on the next one.

Why are all the New York conventions during the winter? I didn't realize we were running up against Icon till today. Well, I still think we can fill our tables. I'll just have to watch out for those pesky cons next time.

Lets see. a few thoursand people going to SUNY Stonybrook for the 23rd I-con and about 20 people going to Albany for the 1st ENworld game day. I think no matter what I-con wins.

Frankly, I would love to go to I-con if I could afford it and if I wasn't doing this whole game day thing. But, hey, The Albany game day is cheaper, shorter, and hopefully less stinky.* I mean all you have to pay for is trasportation and any donations that are put in for lunch.

I agree... I-con can get pretty stinky in the game room. I also hope that I will be able to attend the next game day! Good luck and I hope I-Con doesn't adversely affect your attendance numbers.

I have this little personal vendentta against the 'souther' part of the Empire State (IE: NYC and its surroundings) but... I'm a 'real' New Yorker

So count me down as a definate Albany Game Day'r!
BTW: Is there any time set? You mention chipping in for lunch. This leads me to believe that we'd be starting around 10 or 11am. Which is fine... I'm open all day.

my current idea time wise is*:

9:00 am - show up/meet and greet
10:00 - Morning slot starts
2:00 - Break for lunch
3:00 - Afternoon slot
7:00 - Wrap up

I will most likely order pizza or something depending on the group as a whole's feelings on food. We should have snacks here and there.

I figure we should officially end by 7 since I know a few people will have a good size drive home. Zombie Planet will be open till 10 I believe so people won't be ushered out at the stroke of 7.

Of course any of this could change before the actual date. ZP may, though I have a feeling they won't, need us to change a detail here and there.

I've been wondering will there just be one game or is the Eden rep willing to run a game in each slot?

That would be a AO question. He talked with george about someone running an Eden game. At the moment I have them scheduled for one slot.
