Awww man, I wish I hadn't seen this thread.... At least not until I had a chance to watch tonight's episode.... :(

I was like "He's not dead... Oh..."
Whoops... sorry about that. I should have realized not everyone has read the books or had a chance to watch the episode. My bad.

I'll just edit my first post to hide that comment.

Okay, now that I've actually SEEN the episode... I'm surprised too.

There's a few characters I would like to see kick the bucket and he's definitely one of them. Dunno why anyone would be sad about him dying...

Probably because Jack Gleeson is actually a really nice guy, and he played the role so well. People may be leaving he flowers for the actor more so than the character.

What? Preposterous! Actors are exactly the same as the character they play. That means he's a bastard and Peter Dinklage is short in real life.

Actually, that's incorrect. Dinklage is actually 5'10", but HBO's FX peeps are very good at what they do. They are able to make Dinklage look much shorter, as well as make Emilia Clarke a blonde.

At least within the scope of the TV series, King Joffrey was everyone's favorite villain. While there are other villainous characters in the show, none stands out as more vile and in a position of power. His loss is indeed a loss to the storyline. He wasn't loved by the audience except many "loved to hate the guy", but he'll be missed.

Sure he'll be missed. And I am kinda curious what the actor's going to do next. He played this so well. You had to hate him.
