Alright i need a little help

Greenfield, I'm pretty sure you're talking about that thing towards the back of MM5? Cool enemy to use, I think. Can't remember it's name at the moment. Anyway, when making high level NPCs adventures, take in to consideration the high likelihood of them having made enemies, having been to other planes with more powerful figures, and having made some of their enemies there. While exploring the material plane, it's true that PCs wandering casually will run in to the majority (read: walking target). The PCs likely have friends of more normal stature on the power scale, and probably visit them now and then, for example. Additionally, lower level enemies can be used as a transition to a new story arc, such as finding who ever is controlling those lesser brutes who assaulted you. Sometimes, I find it enjoyable to use a highly clever and tactful mastermind who isn't necessarily powerful in combat, but outsmarts the PCs at every turn.

All that aside, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I don't have my game world scale up with the PCs. There are still Orc raids along the borderlands, Highwaymen on the roads and petty evils out there even when the PCs have out leveled such things.

Let me add that I 100% subscribe to this philosophy. I completely agree that orcs when they get sufficient numbers and left to their own devices, are going to come streaming down from the mountains and swarm the countryside, regardless of how many times they got blasted by fireballs the time before.

I also completely agree that it makes the world more believable to continue to have low level stuff still on going as the PC's level up. I think it's a great touch and drives home that feeling that, "wow, we've come a long way since we last fought off these orc hordes."

I also loved your story of the Mother of Wolves kicking the crap out of the party. You gotta love it when people start at Epic Levels and they quickly learn that there is always someone who swings a bigger sword. Good stuff. As I said, keep posting those anecdotes.
