Altered Warforged

Fallenibilis

First Post
In a campaign me and my freind are making we've decided to include warforged and warforged scout as playable a races. But we decided that we would alter them slightly to make them a bit more playable in our eyes.
So i thought i would post the alterations up here to see if anyone has any thoughts or comments.

Warforged Racial Traits:
+2 Con, -2 Cha
Medium
Base Speed 30ft
Lowlight Vision
Living Construct Traits; Except for they get natural healing
Powerful Build
Composite Plating
Light-Fortification
Favored Class: Fighter
LA +1

Warforged Scout
-2 Str, +2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Cha
Small
Base Speed 30ft
Lowlight Vision
Living Construct Traits; Except for they get natural healing
Composite Plating
Light-Fortification
Favored Class: Rogue
LA +0

I'm really not sure why you and your friend decided that warforged were "unplayable" in their as written setup. You have to remember that the Living Construct traits means your character never has to eat, sleep, breathe, and can't become fatigued. That right there is pretty significant. Also, with regards to the lack of natural healing, just have ranks in Craft: Armorsmithing and you can repair hit points with a skill check.

We thought they were playable before just not as playable for inexperanced players, so we wanted to tinker a bit with them, also we wanted to include the Warforged as +1 race so we set about for to do that like we dropped the -2 Wis which to us didn't make sense, gave them Low-light Vision, Natural healing we thought would make them to be played easier for our players cause most of them are quite new to the game, and we gave them powerful build cause we thought a big robot man should be able to tote around and use a large weapon with no problem.

For Scout we gave the a boast to the Con dropped the wisdom penalty, bumped up their speed to 30 cause we reasoned if the Whisper gnome (also a race we are using) can move 30 feet surely the Construct can, Nat healing is for the same reason as above, and lowlight vision is just kinda useful, though now that im looking at the scout we may have to give it a LA as well...

I've never played Ebberon/Warforged but the stats are very close to a Goliath from Races of Stone.

Con/Cha are the same
Speed, same...Powerful build...level adj +1...

Light fortification. I assume its the same as the armor enhancement
(Avoid crit 25%) Easly dupllicated with Goliath fighter type.

Composite Plating ??? Reminds me of the feat, Heavy Lithoderms
(RoS...+1 Nat AC)

If you don't like the Warforged as written, go with a goliath.

I like the goliath, but they don't fit the steam punk aspect of the world we are creating like the warforged so i'm afraid their not interchangable.

As for Composite Plating they don't get to wear armor as their's is built into their body though it can be enchanted like normal armor.

Please note that the Warforged written here is Fallenibillis' modified version. RAW warforged don't get Powerful Build and have a -2 Wis, among other differences.
