Is there an inoffensive way to point out that Lolth's face, in this picture, doesn't have the skin tone typical of a drow? Or is she supposed to be a szarkai here?

Two brown recluse bites! Yuck. I've had one, and it was more than enough.

Although in my case, the experience didn't put me off spiders. Instead, it convinced me I've conquered spiders. "Is that the best you've got, spiders? You tried, and you failed!"
It was the second one that pushed me over. Bit me on my back when I was sleeping. By the time I saw my mom the following afternoon (she’s a nurse), it was the size of a quarter after after lancing.

I don’t think it’s offensive to point out. I’m not sure we can accurately tell the color of her skin though, the light source being right under her face and a really intense yellow makes the white balance of the picture pretty much impossible to determine. Her hands appear to have purplish undertones, but that could also just be the coloring of the shadows.

That sounds very unlike a brown recluse to do. Envenomed spider bites are extremely rare, because it’s very metabolically costly for the spider. With the exception of a few extremely aggressive species (mostly found in Australia, go figure), spiders rarely bite humans at all, and even when they do almost never envenomate the bite, unless they’re trapped and pressed between the skin and another surface. Most injuries attributed to brown recluse bites are actually the result of a MRSA infection.

EDIT: To be clear, I’m not trying to cast doubt on your experience. Just sharing information about spiders because I think it’s interesting.

Its a bizarre feeling to be so weirded out by spider bite discussion (as I have issues with spiders) to the point that I feel I must leave the thread.

The mind is a terribly weird thing.
