For years, I've had this weird food habit. I loved cooked tomatoes and any other form of tomatoes like tomato sauce and tomato paste. But I absolutely loathe raw tomatoes. Heck, heat tomatoes for a bit and I'll eat them. But I think they taste different once warmed up and I think raw tomatoes taste, well, icky. Am I alone in my oddity or do other people share this taste?

Nope, you are not alone... :uhoh:

No, you're not! My fiancee and I both hate them raw, but will gladly eat sauce, soup, or other versions of cooked tomatoes. There's just something about the texture and acidity that is, as you say, icky.

OTOH, I hate cooked carrots, while my guy prefers them that way. Ditto for cauliflower.

Can't eat raw carrots, the smell and taste make me sick. Once cooked, they're delicious.

And I can't eat grits unless you put them in a cup, stick a spoon in them, and let them cool and congeal into a gritsicle. Mmmmmm.

Raw tomatos are nasty. Stewed tomatos, tomato soup, tomato sauce etc is yummy. I'm the same way with onions too.
