Am I alone in this?

Same here. Great stuff.

For those of you who like pizza/pasta sauce but don't like tomatoes, it might be because of the sugar in the sauce.

So what you're saying is that you're a gamer who doesn't like pizza?! Sacrilege!! ;)

And you live in Italy. Aren't there a lot of Italian dishes with melted cheese or am I just being an ignorant American and thinking only of Italian dishes I eat here in the States?
Nonono. I eat lots of pizza. Heck, I said that I'm not a cooked-cheese-eater, not that I'm not Italian. :D

Ten years ago I told waiters to avoid putting cheese on my pizza; but as I said, I eventually got used to it. Today, it's actually the one single food where I feel that a bit of cheese improves the taste (anything else, I can eat it, but I prefer it without cheese). I still can't eat white pizzas - those where cheese is the main ingredient.

Edit: and yes, there are lots of Italian dishes with melted cheese (there are lots of Italian dishes with damn near everything, to tell the truth). Today I eat and enjoy most of them, but I still prefer them without cheese. There are only a few dishes that I simply can't touch; mostly, those that are more than, say, 30% cheese.

I eat raw tomatos with a little bit of salt sprinkled on them - one of my favorite snacks actually.

One of us is weird, reveal, but I'm not hazarding a guess as to who.

(It's you.)

:)
