D&D 5E Amazon and the DMG: What's the story?

I've expected the DMG to be dominating the Amazon best seller list but alas it's no where to be found.

How come?

It's strange that my local store already had copies for sale. I figured Europe was the last to get them.

Well, the first place to have them was in Italy long before either the "official" release date or the Wizard-partner-store release date. So they were definitely being shipped in Europe long before they should have been put on shelves.

In my experience, it seems that anyone expecting a game book from Amazon anywhere near its' release date is usually in tears of frustration weeks after that date came and went.
