Anyway, if we have that misconception straightened out, maybe we can work on the one about all D&D players being nerds. I propose we start by not Googling women's names and fawning over high school yearbook pictures.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Quoted for truthiness! You win at the internet! Way to go!

But I am a nerd. And I like googling for pics of women. You don't want me to change my life, you want me to fundamentally alter the way I live. And I won't stand for that. I won't sit, kneel, or lie down on a comfy couch or futon for that, either.

Well, certainly not current (or recent) high school yearbook pictures.

And the women will correspondingly not alter the way they live and avoid you.

Let's make something exquisitely clear. I don't particularly care what people do at home. Here at EN World, however, we have no tolerance for gender discrimination or harrassment of any kind. Before someone makes a stereotyped comment about someone from the opposite gender, they should think about how that would play if it was made of an ethnic minority instead -- then they should not type it.

If you ever see a violation of this, please report the post. Sexism is rampant enough in the real world that we sure as hell don't need it here.

Now, let's get the thread back on topic, please. I invite anyone who wants to discuss this with me to drop me an email or post in Meta.

Like an insect to a bright light I feel compelled to vainly try to contribute something and make myself look even worse.
I think the reason for not using the word sorceress by WOTC is a load of crap.
Ooh, the word sorceress is sexist but every 5th page in a WOTC book being a cheesecake pic that borders on being softcore porno isn't? Please.

So, would you care to actually provide any examples?

Howzabout this fairly infamous picture, straight from a core book, the Monster Manual.

Fairly infamous? Really? I've seen worse at the local newsstand, Fishbone. That's hardly purient. And it does nothing to shore up your claim at all.

I find it pretty amusing that someone who's made some rather sexist comments on this thread is offended, in a Puritanical sort of way, by a drawing of a woman that shows no naughty bits at all.

Ian Faith: Sex-IST!

Sometimes it's tough to tell the difference . . . ;)
