Family Guys is great, but IMHO Robot Chicken is beyond awesome.

Truly, Robot Chicken = The Bomb.

The main reason I even started watching AS was to watch Futurama*. I'll be sorry to see it go to Comedy Central, but then again, they'll have the new episodes.

Of course, I love the Venture Brothers, and I do like ATHF, Birdman, and Sealab. I'm not quite so fond of Tim & Eric or Saul of the Molemen, but Saul's growing on me.

* - Literally, in 2002 I was in New Jersey for a friend's wedding, and the train I was on had a poster advertisement.

DonTadow: Do you mean the five demon-ninja, lead by Tsukuyomaru (I think that was his name)? Or maybe some members of the Band of Seven, lead by Bankoutsu (who carries a huge sword he calls his halberd, or banryu)? Cuz those are the only ones I can think of, and those are both kinda old, from a year ago or something. As another mentioned, AS stopped running new episodes of InuYasha a few months ago at least. Around, oh, maybe half a dozen episodes after InuYasha's Tetsusaiga acquired the Adamant Barrage attack, to punch through Naraku's ever-stronger barriers. -_-

Sucks that there's nothin' good to watch on most nights now, but then, I only watch the anime and Futurama, and think the rest of AS's stuff is crud. I don't mind the similarities between various animes that originated from Shonen Jump, it's still more entertaining than most other stuff on TV lately. -_-

Among other things, I'm hoping for a new season of Avatar sometime soon on Nickelodeon, but I dunno; have they even found another voice actor to voice Uncle Iroh, now that Mako's no longer present to do so? :(

I'm anxiously waiting for season three to hit, but it just won't be the same without Mako.

:(

As far as AS, I love Family Guy, Futurama (genius as far as I'm concerned) and Robot Chicken. I used to watch DBZ but got tired of it when I realized it was the just the same story being recycled. I tried watching Bleach and Naruto and InuYasha but I found they feature far too many of the aspects of anime that I've grown tired of (I still enjoy Anime - I just tend to be more selective about the stuff I'll watch).

I'm also not sure how AS is different up here compared to in the States. I know I wish we had your Cartoon Network instead of our Teletoon (except Skyland - that is all good and I'm not sure if it is on CN).

That's because there ARE no more eps. The (tv) series ended at around that point.

Yup thats it but I hadn't seen those episodes. The current adult swim isn't as terrible as i first thought it was. WHen igot back home i decided to watch the 40 episodes of bleach on my tivo and blood plus. Both were pretty good. Still not better than the Tokko and Niene on Scifi but entertaining.

I still was a bit surprised to see a completely different lineup for saturday nights in an english speaking country.

As for the simularities in DMZ, Naruto, Bleach etc... The simiularities listed in an earlier post is pretty much the same for a lot of cartoons, american or japanese. Protaganist, sidekicks, hero es getting stronger. That's a lot of series, comics, tv showss and movies you'd be calling similiar. Naruto and Bleach are incredibely different shows. DMZ and DM-GT are even different when looking at the plot and characters.

Agreed.

Skyland isn't on Cartoon Network as far as I know. It is on the Nicktoons network, running alongside re-runs of Avatar. I've only watched a few episodes though, it didn't seem that great, but I dunno; I didn't see the beginning so I have only the faintest idea what the deal is with the storyline.

Now if only Nicktoons would start playing Invader Zim again......they stopped like a week ago, which really sucked. And even then it was only on at 2 am (so I had to stay up extra-late just to watch it; I never got to see Invader Zim when it was on regular Nickelodeon and during normal hours). :(

I wouldn't give the storyline big points for originality, but it is still decent. I find the voice acting pretty solid as well, but the thing that grabs me is the visuals: I've never seen anything like that in a weekly animated series before. I find I spend most of my time just enjoying how nice the world looks in that show and only half paying attention to what is going on (but there have been some pretty cool episodes, plot-wise).
