An Idea Crazy Enough to Work

It's up to the GM to limit the societal access of magic -- commoners might just not ever be able to get magical feats -- but when it comes to PCs, the powers aren't very unbalancing. Each feat gives you access to 2 to 5 of the 10 magical skills, plus a special ability or drawback that affects your spellcasting. Ultimately, if you play a Smart hero, you can recreate a D&D wizard fairly well, though you end up with less power and more flexibility.

I have. The Ritual Warrior is a whole different animal than what Galethorn is talking about. As the text in the Combat Rites section of the book states, the things that a Ritual Warrior (or an Oathsworn or Warmain at high levels) can do aren't magical in nature at all.
