Ancestral. The kobolds dragon disciple

Cool at what level?

I want to use 3rd level at least, but I may not be able to go that high, due to the party ECL. They're a bunch of hard-hitters, so I'll need to back this guy up with some fodder to make it a challenge, without killing him in one round. I need him to be able to last a couple at least to get a good feel for it. This would be at least an EL 9 at that level of Prc.

So a Sorcerer5/Anc 3?

I'm making it Sorcerer6/Anc3, pretty sure he needed level 6 to make the spellcasting requirement, and I want him to be able to breath. Do you want me to post him here when I have him completed? I just need to add the ANC 3 at this point. I was going to enter the whole thing into the Character generator I downloaded, but I figured it would be much more work than I need for this.

Hey Ferret,

I have a couple of questions.
- Is Critical for claw/claw/bite 20/x2 for each?
- Spell level, does that count for both spells known, and spells castable per day?
- Also is there a number of times per day, or limit on breath weapon use per time period?

I'm working on applying the template to the character now.

Thank you,
GW

Against Superior numbers, he will direct his tribe to use missle weapons. He will through his flask of oil, and breath on the enemies, lighting the oil, and doing breath weapon damage. fire damage subsequent rounds from burning oil per DMG/PHP.

If forced into melee combat, he will attempt to quaff his magic fang potion, and attack with his natural weapons. Prep time will have him casting his Buff spells and Invisibility before melee.

If in a negotiation or parley is happening, he will enhance himself with seeming of the Dragon, if this goes bad, he will use Slurm's Follicular agitation to show his displeasure

The party may meet him tonight. The number of nearby rooms dwindles.

GW

We finally played the encounter with this BBEG for a tribe of Kobolds. He had a couple of Dretches nearby for support. He knew the party was coming, and doused the area around the door with Oil, to both hinder the party, and to prepare to flame it with his breath, when enough of them came in. The Dretches were there as part of the infernal pacts the Kobold was making, in creating new breeds of Kobold. They were supposed to delay the party in the Oil. Buimbu slammed the party with some Dragon Bolts/Magic missles, and grabbed the big Half-Ogre with a Charm Person. No one in the party would attack him, because he would decimate at least half of the party. He held off the party, while Buimbu cast Mage armor to get up to AC24, invisibility, Summon III, (Hell Hound) and Fly. (He was using his cape, to try to appear Draconic.) he also augmented his spells, with a couple found at Arwink's website. I don't have the link with me here, Several of the party were dropped to single digits, when they fell back, due to the Half-Ogre, who they could not get past, without starting a heck of an internal battle. As it was, the Half-Ogre attacked the Dretches, as I did not have Buimbu tell him not to. When they retaliated, the spell was broken. The Half-Ogre(Ierkh), and an Orc Ranger chased the Sorcerer.Ancestral back into his room. When Ierkh fell in the oil, Buimbu spit some fire into the Oil (spell custom 0 level from Arwinks's website) and burned Ierkh who started raging, and jumped out of the fire. When both came into the room, Buimbu breathed his flamer for this encounter. Ierkh was raging and was dropped to under 0 when his rage stopped with the death of Buimbu. 4 to single digits, and one to unconscious.

I made some mistakes at first, which was probably good. I had never played a Sorcerer before. he had some magic and postions that I would have used for him, if I had payed better attention.

The most important part is, we all had a blast playing this encounter.

Cool, sounds great, by the sounds of it it looked powerful, do you have a storyhour I can read it on? Was it balanced?

Glad to hear you liked it though!
