Ok, as stupid as this movie was at times...the brawl was absolutely hilarious...he used a trident for crying out loud...A TRIDENT!!!!

And I loved all his little pseudo-curses...

"By Lucifer's Beard!"

Anybody else catch this little flick over the weekend and have any thoughts...?

Yes that was probably the most RANDOM movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I thought I was cranked while I was watching it but some scenes just made me laugh till I cried. Like when Farrell is crying in the phone booth over the phone to his buddies at the news room...post dog. God that was good.

Otherwise its seriously a rental.

Overall: meh. But then it's not the kind of film I would normally see (caught a sneak preview), so my opinion won't mean much to those who, say, like Will Ferrel.

There were some brilliant moments, though, and lots of funny cameos. Loved everything Steve Carrell (Brick) said and did. And the Planet of the Apes tribute during the anchorteam brawl was very funny.

Hilarious flick. The ending was meh but the rest of it had me laughing almost constantly. Brick is the man. The pooch punting was hilarious.

The whole film was so ludicrous that you just had to laugh. But then again I love movies like this...
