Andromeda: Dylon Hunt Rides Again

Steverooo

First Post
Well, after the mystifying end of last season, Dylon and most of the crew are back, now stuck on what turns out to be Tarn Vedra... Harper (and maybe Rommie) will be back in this week's episode. I still have no idea exactly what happened in the last season's ending episode...

That's exactly what a lot of folk missed about Andromeda. They presumed they knew what happened, when they really didn't. Just like some folk get all wound up about the time-travel line in Enterprise, even though it's as crucial to the show as the wormwhole in DS9 or Voyager being on the other side of the galaxy.

The only thing that we DO know about how last season ended was that the Magog worldship got trounched by Trance, and that Trance/Dylan shifted the entire crew along the Route of Ages to this new place.

IOW, they hit the Reset Button?

One can only hope they get it back on-track ever since Robert Hewitt Wolfe left the production. And I used to like some of their premise and elements (AI ships, Argosy and Lancer Corps, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum bots, etc.).

Let me explain.

Many universes co-exist at once. Its not exactly like startrek though. Trance is from some race of beings who kinda exist everywhere at once. The universe exists how you percieve it.

At the end of the last season, Dylan traveled into the Route of Ages to rejoin the "Paradine". This race of godling creatures who created the universe.

Everyone else died, or was about to die, when Trance engulfed them all within herself.

At the start of this season we find that everyone is on what appears to be some ruined system with 2 suns and 9 planets.
one of the planets is what Tarn Vedra was. There are NO slipstream access points here. The origiginal Tarn Vedra was similarly locked out. So at this point we dont know if its the true Tarn System, or if its a universe constructed by Trance.

Everyone was dumped into the system at diffrent times.
Harper and Rommie 3 years, Rhade 9 months, Beka 1 month, Dylan most recently.

The last few eps have been about getting everyone back together. The next ep we discover more about this system/universe and some creature from the route of ages.

One thing to also note. Previously Trance was Dylans Guide. With this whole use of her power, Trance was reborn and now Dylan is HER guide.

Its not really a reset. Everything that happened still happened. We need to watch a few more episodes into the season to see whats going on.

ah, can never pass up a good chance(excuse) to use a Douglas Adams quote: :p

'The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy has, in what we laughingly call the past, had a great deal to say on the subject of parallel universes. Very little of this is, however, at all comprehensible to anyone below the level of Advanced God, and since it is now well-established that all known gods came into existence a good three millionths of a second after the Universe began rather than, as they usually claimed, the previous week, they already have a great deal of explaining to do as it is, and are therefore not available for comment on matters of deep physics at this time.
One encouraging thing the Guide does have to say on the subject of parallel universes is that you don't stand the remotest chance of understanding it. You can therefore say "What?" and "Eh?" and even go cross-eyes and start to blither if you like without any fear of making a fool of yourself.
The first thing to realize about parallel universes, the Guide says, is that they are not parallel.
It is also important to realize that they are not, strictly speaking, universes either, but it is easiest if you try and realize that a little later, after you've realized that everything you've realized up to that moment is not true.
The reason they are not universes is that any given universe is not actually a thing as such, but is just a way of looking at what is generally known as the WSOGMM, or Whole Sort of General Mish Mash. The Whole Sort of General Mish Mash doesn't actually exist either, but it is just the sum total of all the different ways there would be of looking at it if it did.
The reason they are not parallel is the same reason that the sea is not parallel. It doesn't mean anything. You can slice the Whole Sort of General Mish Mash any way you like and you will generally come up with something that someone will call home.
Please feel free to blither now.'

I missed the purple Trance with her tail. I can't say it enough, I also missed RHW.
