IAs for Greyhawk, I think part of the reason for no new Greyhawk book is that there is some disagreement in Greyhawk fandom on what should and should be canon based on previous products.
Understatement of the year.

Magic of Incarnum: maybe...I'll take a look

Fantastic Locations products: only if one is underwater ;)

Magic of Eberron: I don't use that setting.

Races of the Dragon: I already have Draconomicon, so only if the dragon turtle and sea drake are given "true" dragon status

Player's Guide to Eberron: nope. Players Guide to the World of Greyhawk, yes, in a heartbeat, but that topic has been already covered in this thread.

Heroes of Horror, Tome of Magic, or Complete Psionic: The first two, maybe (if there is aquatic content). I have the Expanded Psi Handbook, so I'm set on psionics.

I'm pretty optomistic over the new books. I probably won't buy all of them - I'm trying to keep my buying down to what I will definately use - but I like the sound of the directions Wizards are going. The big spellbook will be a big help for myself as a DM - if I'm making an Enchanter NPC for a game, I can find all the new enchanter spells in one book, rather than flipping through four different Complete books and god knows what else. The new magic book sounds interesting - it kinda reminds me of the Materia magic that you see in Final Fantasy - I wonder if that is an influence on it?

I'm also more curious about Races of Dragons than I have been for any of the previous Races of... books. Kobolds and (whatever) are new (to me) from a rping standpoint, rather than representing races that I'm already familiar with.

And hey - if I don't like it, I won't buy it. No problem there.

In all seriousness, I intend to buy this to get a good look at how to do advancement without items. I'm a bit tired of "player as Christmas Tree" and would rather find a way to just let them have the equivalent of most magic items as powers.

That's one aspect of Four Color to Fantasy I liked, it has rulse to use the powers as substitutes for magic items/wealth.

I have no use for another race book and a book about kobolds or other dracnoc races just seems useless when we already have the draconomicon.

What's with the comparisons between RotD and Draconomicon? They're about two entirely different things.

You can't have enough psionics material in my view, and since it gets little to no coverage in other books, this one is a must have.

I know this is an understatement, possibly only a few orders of magnitude less than saying it looks like rain at the start of a hurricane. I have seen some Greyhawk threads get to the level of personal insults between people arguing over canon. I think that the divisiveness of Greyhawk fandom over what is the "REAL" Greyhawk tends to hurt the chances for possible products. I would argue that it is a DM and players that bring life to a setting at the game table, and that many published settings get altereed by DMs and players. So, I think that Charles Ryan clarified much of the reasons why WotC is unlikely to do a Greyhawk hardcover anytime soon. The division over canon probably is just an additional factor. (There are some very good materials from the Living Greyhawk campaign, so perhaps there might be an update of the Living Greyhawk Gazeteer -- whichi is very light on mechanics. The Greyhawk maps that were published in Dungeon would be a welcome addition to a new book. However, I would be pleasantly surprised if WotC releases another Greyhawk book.)

I will give Magic of Inacarnum a look, as it sometime seems that characters are heavily reliant on their magic items and this might be a way to incorporate power into the characters. So, I am keeping on open mind on the books.

However, I would be far more interested in seeing a book on how to adapt the various races to a desert setting and what cultures they may embrace in that type of environ than yet more new races, classes, feats, magics etc.

[PLUG] If you didn't get much use out of Sandstorm, you might want to consider looking into Green Ronin's Egyptian Adventures: Hamunaptra boxed set.[/PLUG] :)

Happy gaming.

Okay, you can have 2 books on dragons and 2 books on psionics, so long as WotC also releases "Races of Water" and the "Hydronomicon". ;)
