He was not invited into Russell Winters' home in the very first episode of Angel. He also enters demon lairs in just about every episode (at least in early seasons) without being invited.

Ah, well I don't have the Season 1 DVD's yet so its a smidge hard to recall those things. Thanks for the clarification.

But Russel was a vamp. I don't think he has to be invited into demon homes, just normal human ones.

That was my point. Cordelia is a demon nowadays, and has been since mid-third season. Even ignoring that she's already invited him to her room once, and that he owns the hotel, he would be able to enter there.
