Angel 3/3/4 (Spoilers)

Ah, but Sahjan (sp?) *wasn't* killed, he was just imprisoned.
As eventually revealed, the plotline was:
- In the past, Sahjan finds a prophecy that Connor's going to kill him (him specifically, by name, so Illyria's not part of that prophecy);
- Sahjan changes the text of the prophecy so that it seems to imply that Angel will kill Connor;
- Wesley, spurred on by the false prophecy, kidnaps the infant Connor, resulting in the child being raised by Holtz in a demon dimension.
- Teen Connor returns to L.A. and much wackiness ensures ;) , including Sahjan being trapped in a big jar. As far as we know, though, he's still there, so the original prophecy hasn't yet come to pass.
Oops, forgot the jar. But, either way (FUTURE ANGEL EPISODE SPOILERS ahead!)
when Connor comes back for his episode this season (which I only know about because the actor will be on for an ep, nothing about the plot) I don't think it will have to do with an old prophecy. Not with the show ending soon. That Sahjhan thing seemed like a one-shot deal to explain the false prophecy.
But that's just my opinion. That story isn't complete and could be revisited but I just don't see it happening.

My original point is still valid - that plotline was wrapped up and served its purpose. It could be brought up again but you can say that about any plotline/villain/character in the series. :)

A decent episode, even if things were resolved a bit too quickly.

I'm not convinced Fred's soul is gone, because Illyria seems to be quite human in her actions. I know that Angel has always portrayed demons as basically humans that look weird, but I think Fred's soul is responsible for Illyria being the way she is.

I really think that Joss didn't expect Angel to be cancelled, and set some things up this season that weren't meant to be resolved until next season or later.

I think this is a good point. It's my one regret about the cancellation even though I do think it is good for the show to go out on top.

Just a few small tidbits...

It's damned time we find out what the deal is with the Senior Partners. The only hint we've ever had of them, other then those three Pylean books from season 2, has been in this episode.

Actually, we have seen one of the Senior Parnters. It was in Season 2 Episode 15 "Reprise (pt 1)." Wolfram and Hart were having there 75th year review, or something like that, and a senior partner was making a personal visit. Angel kills him using a mystical glove. So we have seena senior partner, but perhaps we will see the wolf, the ram, and the hart.

Angel's group had an accidental hand in destroying Karitas - TWICE -

Karitas was destryoed three times. The first when Angel and Co. came back through the portal from Karitas. The second was when Gunn's old Gang came in and shot the place up in Season three, and later in Season 3, Holtz drops an explosive barrel down into Karitas, destroying it a thrid time. If you would like, I can get the episode numbers for you.

Yeah, I know, I have way to much free time.

Was that a SP or was it auditor? I think Lorn said they manifest in that form because it was easy to travel planes as one? :)

I enjoyed the episode. I just recently got into the show. I had whatched a few here and there but now I am pissed the are canceling it.
One thing that I don't know is How and Why the gang came to be in charge of Wolfram & Hart? Anyone care to explain?

Thanks

Taelorn, last season's big bad was really big and REALLY bad. As an example, the big bad's sidekick singlehandedly slaughtered almost every employee of Wolfram and Hart's Los Angeles office. The big bad had a particularly icky way to bring about world peace.

Once Angel & co defeated it, W&H basically said, "Good show, mates! That was the apocalypse we've been trying to avoid for so long, and you did it! You stopped world peace from occurring! We're not gonna fight you here any more; instead of fighting with you, we're offering you the LA office of W&H. Want it? Do ya? Do ya?"

And so their corruption began.

The 'why' part is sort of a mystery, but my best guess is that W&H decided since direct confrontations with Team Angel weren't working, they'd try to corrupt them by letting them have control of the company.

How? Basically someone from W&H came and offered it to them, and without Cordy to keep them morally centered, they caved and accepted.

I dunno. Joss said in public months ago--well before the cancellation announcement--that he was setting up the ending of this season to be either a season ender or a series ender, since he didn't know if they'd be picked up or not. Since I don't see any reason for him to lie about that, I doubt they had to do much more than tweak their current plans when they found out that the idots at WB had axed them.
