I would rule that the Acid has to deal a certain amount of damage before it registers on the cloak, kind of like hardness of walls.
I think mending would fix the cloak, but would definitely not re-enchant it. It would just come back as a normal cloak.
So say someone snuck in with an alchemy jug and used 8oz of acid on a magical cloak while they were sleeping (dont ask why they wouldnt use it on the sleeping person instead). How long would you personally say it would take to burn it enough to "disenchant" it?
