Any good solo adventure modules/adventures

Here is the situation...I am considering running a one on one campaign for my girlfriend and myself. She gamed when she was younger, but got out of it when her brother became interested...

She has a basic fantasy background (Tolkien, Harry Potter, etc..).
And I have quizzed her for fun on what kind of character she would be if she was thrust into a Tolkienesque world.

So I am looking for any solo adventures (meaning small scenarios), or modules (that could be broken down to small sessions). Time is an issue as I don't have tons of free time to create something from scratch.

Having read the boards about bringing in significant other's into gaming, I want to keep it combat light roleplay heavy for awhile, and try to keep the fantasy aspect a central part.

Any suggestions on modules, ideas, or anything else is appreciated.

I won't run any set campaign world as I want to keep it simple for now.

Hit me with what you got! I am all ears.

There is a module called 3 Days to Kill. It is not designed to be a solo, but could work. It basically has two parts, the first is a large festival, the second is attacking some bandits. THe festival part has lots of role playing potential. THe bandit part is desgned for combat, but I think it could be geared towards role playing if you altered a few things.

You could always have a look at my 101 Encounters Document. It is meant for the Harn RPG but since it is without any rules, it could EASILY be converted to any setting or system. Have a look at This Link

I especially recommend encounter #101, the last one in the book, "The Master Game Master". :D

Give her a monsterous NPC friend. Let her rescue an Air Mephit Rogue, a Pseudo Dragon Bard, a Celestial Wolf Paladin, a Half-Dragon (Silver) Hawk Ranger, or whatever other beast/class combo will augment the skills of her character's class(es).

As a monster, though, it's going to be more of an advisor than a negotiator -- outsiders will look at the creature more as a pet than a party spokesperson. This lets her keep all of the role-playing fun while still not being forced to do combat solo.

The Book of Challenges has some good short encounter stories that might work. Even better might be using Mystic Eye Games's Foul Locals. While equiping her character ( after she has already visited many "normal" locations, you can have her run accross some of the crazies in this book. You may need to scale down the EL a bit...

I just had a look at the HARN encounters .pdf. Some good ideas there! For that last one , "Master Game Master", how much damage should an expoding polyhedron cause?

"Challenge of Champions IV" (in Dungeon #91) was designed to be played by 1, 2, 3, or 4 players and one DM. You might still be able to find copies of it around. Best of all, it's for PCs of any level.

I remember there was an adventure put out in .PDF format, and then a follow up...

It was for a 1st level Rogue PC to do solo, while the party was in town.

I saw that, BFG. Glad you thought enough of it to recommend it! As for my solo suggestion, why not duplicate in the game what she's going through? By this I mean something like...

She is the daughter (son?) of a noble in a medium-sized town. She has been basically trained in her chosen class by the noble-hired tutor and has taken a break to spend time with a friend outside the city. While out, she and the friend get separated in a fog and find evidence that he/she ran afoul of some evil being. While there is no body, there is blood on the ground and signs point to a nearby hamlet. In this village you can have plenty of roleplaying going on as she puts her fledgling skills to the test to find her friend. Questioning locals and/or sneaking around for answers.

You should be able to get a fleshed out small village either from any number of published adventures or from a web download. What happened to the friend, you ask? Maybe an evil low-level priest has dragged him away for a ritual designed to test the priest's dedication to a god. Fighting one or two acolytes as well as the priest plus saving her friend can be an easy set-up just by putting the "hidden altar" in someone's basement. This beginner scenario sets up potential for future enemies (more cultists form the priest's god) and allies (the friend...and his adventurer parents/comrades?).

This is off the cuff so take it for what it's worth.

Wasn't there a publisher doing 1-on-1 adventures? I remember something called Thievery 101. Look in the d20 guide, they'd be in the W-X-Y-Z range. (Thus, very thin, so easy to find.)
