Any info on Fiend Folio?

OK, I've read the blurb, but I still haven't been able to figure exactly what this manual is supposed to be...

I've got my copy here beside me. If you are trying to picture what it is, imagine a particularly crappy Monster Manual.

It introduced the Githyanki however, and that's good.

I think he's referring to the 3E Fiend Folio, Billy. It's been hinted that that's not a conventional monster compilation like it's predecessor.

As far as the 1E Fiend Folio goes, I like it...Dark Creepers, Volts, Fire Drakes, Revenants, Scarecrows and Yellow Musk Zombies are more my style than Digesters, Yrthaks, Gray Renders, Ethereal Filchers, Tojanidas and Krenshars. YMMV.

I have never understood the love of the Githyanki. The rest of the 1E was pretty cool though. I'm hoping that the 3E version is better than the 3E version of the MM II. The 1E version of the MM II was really cool, the 3E wasn't.

It's because githyanki are total badasses. A githyanki'll cut your silver cord, sure, but that's just for starters. He'll steal your girlfriend, TP your house, and turf your yard as he drives away in his Camaro. If you've made him REALLY mad (by dissing him on a D&D message board, for example), he'll fill out the "Bill me later" subscription cards from a bunch of dirty magazines with your name and address.
