I like it, but I think I'd rather stick with the bonus powers gained from being a regular monk. The Acolyte of the fist seems too combat orientated for my tastes (I know the Monk itself is, but the regular class presented in the PHB has some powers I'd rather not give up).

The only problem with the Forsaker is that alot of the monk Special Abilities are SU so you couldn't use them. Although I agree that the Forsaker is the king of PrC.

The Forsaker prestige class is in WotC's Masters of the Wild. It's aimed more at barbarians, IIRC.

Pesonally I think single class monks are one of the only classes that is really worth playing all the way to 20. There are so many advantages... I started one at 8th and played until about 16th... there's just so much good stuff even at higher levels, you don't want to give it up... and it's almost impossible to balance a prestige class if it lets you continue to advance all the cool monk abilities (AC, speed, spell resistance, special abilties, etc).

So my vote is to stay straight monk. I mean, you know you want to be rolling d20's for damage as soon as possible, right?

The Forsaker is barely balanced with the need to destroy magical items. It'd be absolutely ridiculous without that limit.
