Thanks. It has been pushed back to Q4 or the beginning of 2023. No official release date. Green Ronin never does that.
The Rogue is being split into the Rogue and the Envoy. What's going to be different about it?
“Envoy”? What is its deal? The Rogue is being split into the Rogue and the Envoy.
Characters will gain a free Specialization at 1st Level.
Stunt access is being gated somewhat.
Arcana from FAGE Companion will be included in Core.
And perhaps more importantly, "Intelligence" will be spelled correctly.
There are some other differences, but these are ones that I remember off the top of my head from the playtest. There may be further changes between the Playtest and the publication, but we have not really heard anything about it or any changes they made in response to the playtest.
The Envoy is a more social-focused class if you want to play "the Face."“Envoy”? What is its deal?
The Bard has already been a possible Rogue Specialization since the FAGE Companion. The Bard in the playtest was open for the Rogue or Envoy.BARD, you say
Ah okay if the stunts are gated by those pillars in some way I can see that. The Envoy is a more social-focused class if you want to play "the Face."
You can think of it as four pillars of play with four types of stunt points and four classes to support them:
- Combat: Warrior
- Exploration: Rogue
- Social: Envoy
- Magic: Mage
In the Playtest, Stunts were broken up into Basic Stunts (i.e., Basic Combat, Basic Exploration, Basic Social, and Basic Magic). There are about ten basic stunts of each type. There are also Class Stunts, which are more advanced ones. Characters get access to all the Basic ones, but the Class ones are gated, with characters getting to choose one at certain level intervals.I'm curious to see any redesign of the stunts, and access to them. 'You got Stunt Points, now it's time to take 5 minutes shopping through 20+ options' never struck me as the wisest design approach.
They allow low level superheroes too by working on game level toggle, by having powers costed in a particular way.@Aldarc , Thanks. It looks like Fantasy Age (and Modern Age) will join my main systems for non-Superhero games along with Savage Worlds, True20, and, maybe, both Fantasy Craft and Spycraft.
Now, if only I had the extra money to pick up some of the Age System books from the GR sale.![]()
