Anybody actually play a Redemption Paladin?

As someone that has played Redemption, it's not much different. You're still allowed to kill people; it's the second half of the Wisdom tenet. You're just the goodiest of good guys. You try to give people chances and help them be better. You're a shining example of how to live. I've even played a version that tends to beat people for negative reinforcement.

Beyond that, you just use your abilities as an off-tank. Like any class, they serve a purpose. You take damage the big damage off others with Aura of the Guardian. Emissary of Peace let's you be better at negotiating. And Rebuke the Violent just does damage on a reaction. It's pretty fun when you figure out how to game the game.

Once I played a paladin who was about peace and salvation. To end a war she married a cambion necromancer. The bard at the time thought it would be cute to compose a ditty "The laying of Elenestil" After that the other party members thought it would be heroic to nullify the wedding by assassinating the cambion. They knew not that the now grieving widow inherited an artifact which made her a little bit mad.

Now no one dares approach the bleak mountain of Widow's Peak where a zombie bard is said to wander about strumming an old out of tune harp.
I am so stealing this. And, I am 100% certain when my PCs hear the tragic song of the Bloody Widow they will say "that was a different PC party, wasn't it?"
