Anyone played a Hexblade?

Hmm. Think it just clicked what most bothers me about the class.

How does it do damage?

Paladin smites, barbarian rages, ranger gets combat styles. The HB has defensive abilities, but no teeth.

Curse you people! (no pun intended) Now I have *another* character concept I want to play!

*adds a Changeling Hexblade to the ever-expanding list of characters that he'll never have time to play*

:(

on the dealing damage front seems to be a good class for spell then follow up with a melee attack, its actually more liek how I think a cleric should be, having to use a combination of spells and combat to win fights (instead of being amazingly powerful at both :))

tashas hideous laughter power attack it till dead

hold person coup de grace

that sort of thing.

That's my character concept for a PbP I candidated to.

I'd like to test a warmage/hexblade for a gestalt game, too.

Arcane Strike isn't bad-- you have to spend a feat, but other than some hyrbid-PrC builds, Hexblade is the class in the best position to take advantage of it.

Hexblade/Spellthief/Warlock Gestalt. :D ;)

Gestalt is two classes, not three. It would be a bit too much! :)

I've used it for a monk/assassin character. 1d8+4d6+4d4 damage in a flurry of blow is nifty. :D
