Anyone playing Two Worlds yet?

Call of Juarez sounded interesting as it combined two different modes of play: one stealthy character and one nigh-indestructible gunslinger. But a lot of folks panned it, largely because missions would be sumarily ended in unrecoverable failure for minor reasons. In one instance, I heard that if you shoot the horse out from under a bandit, you fail your mission automatically--is the ASPCA a force to be reockoned with in the wild, wild west?

I started the Darkness today. It's fairly fun, but without the manual (which Gamefly doesn't include) it's hard to figure out how some stuff is supposed to work. Still, skillfully done. I have only had my 360 a few months so I haven't had enough time to take things for granted, but the graphics in Darkness really seem unbelievable to me. I mean, I can't believe the way a TV you pass by can actually be playing a film.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent had a demo I tried out. Seemed pretty stark and depressing running arond Kinshasa shooting every emaciated African in sight, just in case one might be hostile.

Just finished Saint's Row. Love the game as a whole, but man the ending is a real burn.

Call of Juarez combined a platformer with a shooter. There were few instances where the game just ended because you made a mistake....though mistakes did make beating a level really, really hard in a few places..particularly with the stealth stuff. If you got seen in the middle of a bandit camp, you'd have a whole bunch of bandits shooting at you....though it wasn't automatically over.

A friend of mine bought it yesterday, and brought it over. It's not bad. I was expecting worse. The graphics are decent, the combat relatively easy, and it moves fairly quickly. The dialog is pretty stilted (ie. "thou art standing in my way, brigand", "forsooth, I thought he said", etc. etc.). My friend had never bought an RPG before, so it was fun watching him learn the conventions of the genre. We played for maybe 2 hours or so, and had a good time with it.

The graphics aren't quite as good as Oblivion. Fighting from horseback is rather neat. Once we figured out a few things, like finding a good weapon so we weren't getting massacred by wild boars and such, things started picking up. Didn't play with the magic system much, as the character we were playing seemed to be turning into a fighter.

NPCs remember what you did. My buddy attacked a villager, and then insulted the guard who tried to arrest him, and as a result, everyone in the village pretty much attacked us on sight whenever we came near. Outside of the village, it's a blank slate, though NPCs etc. tend to remember how you treat them.

Given the play experience I had, I'll likely pick it up, though I might wait for it to come down a bit in price.

If anyone picks up the deluxe edition, please tell me what you think of the d20 RPG rules, cause I wrote em.

I'd like to see what folks think.

I've got it and have been playing way too much of it. I don't think its as good as Oblivion, but it is pretty darn good. Graphics are a little dated, though, looking something like a launch game. Encounters don't level like they do in Oblivion so you can easily get wasted by running into a cyclops at low level. But it is satisfying to put that bad boy in the ground when you get powerful enough.

Some reviewers are probably going to overpan it however. I've noticed some critics who, if they have high hopes for a game, will give it a much lower review than they should if it doesn't live up to hype.

It's not available in the states yet, but it was supposedly released elsewhere in May.

Please give me the skinny as I haven't found any reviews of the end product in English.

I can't believe it !

We have somthing in Europe you guys don't !!!

Ah, I finished it, and it's an excellent game, I'd say the graphics of Oblivion (nearly) with the action of Diablo.

Only regret : lack of female characters/NPCs. Mysoginy ?

I guess Two Worlds is a manly place where people do masculine things in the manful presence of other men.

Me and my friend picked it up, At first I was a bit disappointed when I found out half of the thickness of the book was due to it being a hard back. After leafing through it I think it might be fun. I really like the rules light approach, but will probably convert to True20 in order to remove some of the D20 baggage that weighs it down a bit. It's already probably as close to True20, as a D20 product can get, and as such I only expect it to take a few minutes, and could probably even be done on the fly!

As a freebie, I must say I was thoroughly impressed, and if you have any cutting room floor stuff, I'd love to see it!

Also, Is the reference to the warriors saves, a typo? It lists as two poor, and one bad, but so far I have not found what constitutes a poor save, only good and bad.
