Yeah, but using the regalia is somewhat noticeable. I'm not saying that you may not end up doing so at some time, but don't be surprised if you get attacked by time elemental minions afterward.
And yes, you guys did steal the regalia. Here's how it went down.

Backstory said:"I commend you on your valor, your dilligence, your skill, and your persistance in aiding the Kingdom of Knowledge. You have traveled far and wide on your own power to do Our bidding, and We will reward you with a gift suiting your service. We bestow upon you seven Our newest isle-ship!" Taala's voices boomed out over his assembled court. As an omnielemental, Taala's voice was that of all four elementals, and was simultaneously gravelly, liquid, breathy, and crackling.
The assembled courtiers applauded and made sounds of appreciation, but there was a definite undercurrent of shock, resentment, and even anger. The wispy time and psionic elementals attending were communicating telepathically, but with such intensity that the air crackled between them.
"Come, your ship lies in Iceangel harbor, and We greatly wish to see you take possession of her," Taala boomed, and led his court out to the harbor. Past green fields and crackling ice floes, bits and pieces of the castle grounds were suited for any visitor, no matter how strange. Behind you Taala's castle loomed up into the sky in swooping organic shapes. Seemingly made of pottery, and traced with elemental designs throughout, the classic theme of four was repeated over and over; in the number of towers, doors, windows, pennents, and everything else.
Ahead lay Iceangel Lake, its surface crackling and booming with shattered eye floes. Strange, transclucent blue and white figures resembling angels shot up from from the surface, sailed over it, and plunged back down again, in the dance that gave the lake its name. Tied up at the end of a dock was the magnificent isle-ship, large as an island, fiery sails ready to be unfurled, its crew and captain standing at the rails at strict attention.
Taala turned to his assembled court, intending to make another speech no doubt, when disaster struck. Three towering royal time elementals stabbed forth through the crowd, suddenly appearing at the front in the blink of an eye. Before anyone could even say or do a single thing, colorless limbs stabbed Taala through and through, and the omnielemental prince collapsed.
It is a peculiarity of omnielementals that, at the moment of their death, their bodies give birth to four large elementals, one of each of the four elements. It was this that happened now, each clad in one of Taala's regalia. Quick as thought, the four formed an living wall between you and the angry court, and practically threw the crown, orb, staff, and cloak at you. "Fly, run, find a way to restore the kingdom!" they cried as one, and threw themselves at the angry time elementals, sacrificing themselves for the time you needed to get the on the isle ship and run.
