Apathy: OOC Discussion Thread

The Apathy message boards seem to have fallen dead in spite of the fact that we still have over a dozen active members and a storyline in planning. There are any number of reasons this could have happened (member forgetfulness, the pop-ups, etc.), but I've decided that it will simply be all around better to simply have a thread on these boards for OOC discusions.

This doesn't mean the Apathy boards are dead. It simply means that everything of importance to members will be posted up in this thread as well.

That said, anything Apathy related, even if you don't think its that important, can ne posted here as well. That includes comments and suggestions from non-Apathy members.

Here are a few of the big issues right now:

Storylines - We're working on one, more on that on my next post. Feel free to post and discuss anything about storylines in this thread. I'm not big on secrecy, so there's no need to try to conceal any plot twist ideas you may have. If it absolutely must be secret for some reason, you can PM me with your ideas through MSN.

AWOL Officers - If you've been wondering why I haven't gotten as much done in the past few months as I used to, this has a lot to do with it. NamelessOne's player, who happens to be my sister, has basically stated that she's not interested in participating in Apathy with any regularity. Biantium's player, who I'm still thankful to for providing our site design, has not been so direct about it, but he's definately less interested in the project than he once was. That means, I'm going to need more help in order to properly run the group. I could appoint new officers, but I can see some problems with that. Any ideas?

That's all that comes to mind right now, but if you have any other points you'd like to discuss feel free to add them.

Burgling the Marshals Draft Proposal

1. We need to contact the Marshals about this for co-operation. Nugan should do this. I could, if necessary. The Marshal who should be contacted is WizO Bailey, or WizO Siani if we decide to rob the tavern.

I just made a post about this on the Guildhall and then went here to put up a topic about it only to find that someone had done it for me. Thanks Flick.

Flick pretty much spelled it all out. The only thing I have to add is that I was thinking that maybe their would be some mix up during the burglery and instead of cash we'd end up with something that happens to be wanted not only by the WizO but by a third group.

Of course, this would require the participation of a third group. I'll have to look into that if you guys think its a good idea.

Stealing from the marshals? Marvelous. Everyone up in Juxta needs something to do. (If they can keep the chat site up for more than a week at a time *sniff*)

Thank you Nugan, for kind welcome to the guild. I am happy to help with this new storyline.

I think it is a great idea, to have mix up in the theiving, landing the theives with something more than cash, what serious bad guys will bash heads to get returned...oh yes, that sounds fun!

What sort of "thing" would this item be? A precious stone? A magical artifact? If the latter, is it something with a well known and important use to anyone?...Is it something that only matter to select few, perhaps a piece of evidence of a major crime the Griining Skull has commited that the good guys want as much as the bad guys...

...heh heh do we even need to worry about such details at this point?

This is one the things that we'll have to decide. I'm leaning towards "magical artifact", but that could be a little too standard. What does everyone else think?

Oh and a note on the "AWOL Officers": If we do decide to appoint new officers they will be in addition to the old ones, not replacing them. I certainly couldn't take Biantium's players position away after all he did for us in the begining, even if his interest has wanned lately.

Actually, the Order of the Grinning Skull did kidnap an Adept or two a couple of months ago, but everyone knows they did it, so :bored:. I'd like to note that they often send out people to retrieve relics and artefacts (i.e. steal them from others) because they are short on magic themselves. This was the case with both Celestia and the Moonbeam Adepts.

Second note: the Order of the Grinning Skull is sorta dead, so I'll need to start getting more fellas on board. I'd like to keep it small-scale either way (no special forces or armies!).

I just wanted to say that I can understand totally what you are doing here but I did want to say one thing to you. A HUGE problem onsite is players using OOC knowledge IC which their character's would have no clue about. I would advise not to post BIG plans on here seeing that you will find that many will use the information in a very unsportsmanlike manner.

I hope everything runs well with your group and that you all have a fun experience with your storylines and future plots.

Felicity, I'm going to check with the WizOs on it latter tonight. There's actually another issue that I need to sort out with them at the momment, so I'll get to the storyline once I finish with that.

As far as Grinning Skull is concerned, if you still wish for them to be involved, I can see what I can do about finding more members for you. Oh and I couldn't agree more on the armies thing. I'm not up to doing any huge scale battles or the sort.

Fen, that's a good point, and you definately raise a legitimate concern. I feel, however, that the ability to have an open conversation on this overwhelms my fears that the information could be abused. If something does come up, I'll try to sort it out with the player(s) involved over PMs.
