Pathfinder 1E [April fools joke] Boo WotC! Wizards to sue Paizo for TM Infringement!

I'm just wondering if most of the people who were upset by this are 4e players afraid of Paizo trolls coming here in another forum invasion. I assumed that was the root of the edition wars last year. That being said, I'm a 4e player and was not trying to start an edition war. I support Wizards and think they've done a great job with D&D (although Magic is another story).

I good April Fools joke is one that is ideally funny for all involved after the joke has been revealed. People laugh and go "Hah hah, I totally thought something was up!" even if they didn't, and a good time is had by all.

This joke did not succeed at this.

Perhaps. But I wouldn't be too quick about ascribing motives based on one comment. As a matter of fact, I would recommend not ascribing motive anyway.

Deny it if you like, but I remember well Paizo's forum invasion last year and their relentless 4e bashing. I call them trolls, maybe you call them 'enthusiastic critics of the new edition'. To each his own.

I'm sorry I haven't been politically correct in either my April Fool's post or in calling a bunch of guys who came here last year from Paizo's forum to bash 4e trolls. According to you I had some diabolical plan to cause trouble, as opposed to just making a goofy post. So, you caught me! I was sitting here in my lair yesterday, hatching my villainous plot to destroy either WotC or Paizo with an April Fool's post, a post so dastardly that it was sure to bring those multimillion dollar companies to their knees. Little did I know that posters like you were on the case, eager to dissect every word for signs of malice, whether there was malice or not. Soon, Paizo would go out and hire high priced lawyers to defend themselves, while their stock tanked; meanwhile, Wizards would have a PR disaster on their hands that would cause millons of people to stop buying their product and drive the company out of business. And I would have succeeded if it weren't for you blasted kids. Good work, gang, I guess you solved another one.

Oh, for crying out loud...

I'm an admin, and I don't recall a Paizo "invasion." We're all part of the same hobby. We love those guys. And I have no patience for anyone trying to stir up trouble.

Next time you want to be mean-spirited, please do so somewhere else. This sort of turf protection isn't something we need.
