arcane duelist prestige class

anyone out there play a character with this prestige class from the wotc website? if so, what have your experiences been? is the class balanced, successful, etc? a player in my game is considering it for his multiclassed half-elf bard/rogue. the party consists of a tiefling fighter [who may multiclass with a few levels of rogue], the aforementioned bard/rogue and a human sorcerer/cleric [yes, eventually prestige classing into mystic theurge ... it actually makes sense for this character's concept and helps boost the power of the otherwise undermanned party]. is this the best class choice for a character who fancies himself the debonair swordsman but is more panache than punch?

I asked this question when the class first appeared. The general consensus on rgfd and the WotC boards was that it was lame.

I must have missed something, because I haven't seen this "arcane duelist". Must...search...

Every character with a high charisma needs 2 levels of this class. After that it sucks, but two levels gets your charisma bonus to ac and unlike the monk you can wear full plate and still get this bonus! Sign me up.
