Yes. My Cleric Archer.

I am Frank, I used to post on the WotC boards, as Frank.

I wrote up what is to my knowledge the first "Cleric Archer" build in the year 2000.

Originally it used only PHB, and DMG materials and was part of my demonstration on how the "Arcane Archer" was underpowered.

I have occassionally updated it to take advantage of "persistent spell" and the "elf domain", and such. And now, of course, lots of people use and contemplate variants of it.

I've written lots of things, from the Cleric Archer to the Shades -> Alchemist Fire exploit. I have also written a lot of optional content, in addition to rules lawyering, such as the Pokemaster Class and a rather nice system for transforming monstrous characters into playable characters with Prestige Classes.

When I say "my Cleric Archer Class" - I'm not futzing around. I wrote it originally. And I distributed it as open content. So if you use a version of it, good for you. And good for me, too - it shows that my rules lawyering has made a difference.

Okay. I remember an awful lot of folks posted cleric archers back in the day (original Eric Noah's 3E news boards). Very common build. If you were the first guy then that's pretty neat, and kudos to you.

PS: feel free to use my Dwarf Fighter/Wizard build. It's open content too.

IIRC you can carry 60 arrows, 18 javelins and 6 bows in there. Just fill them all up with arrows instead, and you should be set.

Depends if your DM lets you carry arrows in the non-arrow compartments.

I know I wouldn't.

I would - I'd even try not to chuckle before the interdimensional space ruptured. But I had to learn the hard way not to put bags of holding into other bags of holding.

You're thinking legacy rules there.

Putting a Portable Hole in a Bag of Holding sucks everything within 10 feet into the astral. Putting a Bag of Holding into a Portable Hole sucks both items into the Astral.

But putting a Portable Hole into another Portable Hole just makes the inner one not function until it is removed.

Similarly, you can put a Bag of Holding into another Bag of Holding and nothing bad happens.

Back in the bad old days of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, there were tables for what kind of explosion you got when you put two carrying items into each other - but now nothing bad happens at all.

Well, isn't ammunition the drawback of ranged weapons? While the composite longbow has an excellent range, it requires arrows. It is kinda like a wizard's spells. While spells can do far more than a sword, there is only a limited number of them. Well, you can carry far more arrows than any wizard can prepare spells, but then again, their only advantage is the range...
