Are half-elves described in "Races & Classes"?

I may have missed this in all the chatter about the 4th edition preview "Races and Classes", but does the book have a write up for half-elves like it does for the other main PC races (including new entries like the tiefling and dragonborn)? I admit to hoping that with half-orcs dropping out of the PHB, that half-elves will go too.

If so, does it read like the 3ed social-bonus half-elf, or something new?

There isn't an entry for half-elves, but there is a sketch entitled "half-elf paladin".

Oh, and the paragraph about half-elves that was supposed to be in Races and Classes? Dropped for space, not any other nefarious reason. They’re still around.

She goes on to say something disturbing about a 'happy' sound Noonan makes when people mention half elves still being around.

I think they will. In the book there are 2 pages with 4 images in each. Each image is a character from a different race. There is the human, elf, dragonborn, eladrin, half-elf?, halfling, dwarf and a tiefling.

Ah, yes the first two pages... You are most likely right. The guy with pointed ears and a beard is a very good candidate for an half-elf.

Was there also not mention of an Inspire Allies ability of the half-elf in an older 4th Ed Design & Development article?
