Uhhh. I'll just state this again so that my opinion is on the record, so to speak.

I think it's highly unlikely that the playtesting NDA requires playtesters to not divulge that they're playtesting. Until someone scans in a copy of the document in question (because surely the text of the NDA itself cannot be covered under the NDA like some sort of bizarre world-serpentesque legal document) I'll continue to have that opinion. Not that anyone really cares what my opinion is, of course. :)

Perhaps there just aren't going to be that many external playtesters. The amount of time left before they need to send the PHB out to prep for printing would indicate that they just don't have the resources to sift through an enormous stack of playtest generated data.

I've signed three NDAs in recent memory that absolutely forbade releasing the information of any company documents, including company NDA agreements.

But if you are not a playtester and haven't signed the NDA, you have not agreed to abide by any rules in the NDA and could disclose the NDA. In fact making it a DA. And making some people MAD, since they could not get their PDA.

Or something...

We've no way to tell who voted (at least, not to my knowledge).

When you create poll, there is the option to:

Make votes public: Displays all users who voted, and what choice they voted for.

So the system does track who votes for what although it is usually not displayed.

However, the polls state "this poll will be displayed publicly" before you vote when that option is taken. Unless ENWorld has some major hacking you can't retroactively change it.

There is a certain amount of wiggle room. I've had an existing playtest group for another company that has had a reasonable amount of turnover. It's very hard to get new playtesters in the group without disclosing that you are a playtester and showing them the NDA (for them to sign it).

It has been stated by WotC, I'm not 100% sure who (Scott?).

Yeah, I thought it was that "the first rule of playtest is to never talk about playtest" comment he made that got everyone thinking that even mentioning you were playtesting would open up a gate to hell that would suck you in for eternal torment and damnation, as per the speculative wording on the NDA.

*shrug*
