I'm considering clever disguises for 4e in order to fool them into thinking it's not Dungeons and Dragons.

Skin it as Kung Fu Panda-style martial arts action? That was one of the first style connections I made when I bought the 4e PH.

I just changed my response to "Yes, I have pre-ordered" after finally going ahead with the pre-order on Amazon. Laziness was the only reason why I didn't do so a couple of weeks ago.

I think people read a negative where one was not intended. People frequently accuse admin/mods, as a generalization, of bias in favor of WOTC. It would be handy to be able to say "Yeah well they're so not all on the same page in terms of game tastes that one of them doesn't even own a PHB of that game".

Ah, but you see, we are accused of having bias *against* WotC about as frequently. So, saying that would only act to confirm those positions.

Which is to say - for those who want to see bias, no amount of disclaimer will mean anything.

Yeah if you go to the Wotc boards, this place is the hot bed of 3e/Pathfinder sentiment and is totally biased against Wotc. LOL.

Personally I believe individuals have opinions so each moderator likely has his or her own. Morrus probably likes everything that brings people to his website even if it's not a game he likes to play personally.

I always consider this place "nuetral" territory. I consider wotc as pro-4e territory generally. Not sure any of it really matters. I figure dragonsfoot is pro old school.

I voted Yes, no preorder. (That way I can vote both Yes and no at the same time.)

I'm in a play-by-post 5E game (the only such currently) here on EN World.
We will reportedly have the opportunity to update our characters to the actual rules when those become available, so I will almost certainly buy the PHB. (I won't be able to update my Ranger using the Basic rules.)

I've pre-ordered the Starter Set from my F(not-so)LGS.
I've been playing 4e, I've played AD&D, 3e, 3.5/Pathfinder and others outside of the D&D family. I've enjoy them all, some more than others, I don't have a favourite. I'm looking forward to 5e to see where it stands but it's looking good.

I find myself on the 'for' side of the contentious SW/SR/DoaM rules wars (because I know how they'll be handled reasonably in my group). This is strongly based on the fact that I really like the rules-light basic + modular + table-adjudicated design ethos.

I was very pleasantly surprised that WotC tapped Kobold Press for the adventure designs and Trapdoor Tech for their online license. I think it shows a commitment to getting it right by bringing in partners with proven records / technical expertise. There isn't a lot of into on Trapdoor, but I know 1) THEY approached WotC with 2) the working technology they had already developed and deployed because 3) of their founder's a 35-year fan of D&D. It's the hallmark of a passion project and I can't wait to see what CN:M is going to be like.

Unless the actual products are a complete 180 from what I'm seeing, it'll be quite a product and, I'll be happy to trek to pickup the rest of the books.

I do not see a pre-order on DriveThruRPG, so I can't pre-order if I wanted to.

I am sick of physical books. If they sell 5th edition in PDF I will purchase. If they skip the core books in PDF, I will hold off on any more 5th edition purchases until they are on the store.
