D&D 5E (2014) Are you going to buy 5e?

Yes, I'll be buying all the 5th Edition products released this year. Past that, I'll get everything that interests me.

No, not buying it, but yes, somehow buying it, nevertheless.

A few weeks ago I'd have answered with "no", but the new way of focusing on adventures and handing out the rules for free has changed that.

So I'll buy the Starter Set, download the Basic Rules, and get the Tyranny of Dragons modules as well. No PHB, no MM, no DMG.

I actually don't do a lot of hacking and we don't utilise the plethora of options presdent in the classical 3+ books. In my current campaign which is now 6 years old, we have had just seven adventurers. One Swordmage is from the FR book, the other six used PHB1 races and classes.

No, if and when we start a 5e campaign, I may reconsider, but currently up to three adventure products are enough.

Probably not. I just don't like the way WotC approaches RPGs.

I've heard a few things that seem like improvements recently, but I still don't see anything that would make it better than any cheap or free OSR game.

On this topic, did anyone else notice that this week's DnD Classics New Releases article on the WotC web site did not list any releases for next week? Usually both the current week's releases and next week's releases are covered in that article.

However, when Scourge of the Sword Coast and Dead in Thay were released as PDFs, those were the only releases for that week, and the previous week's news article either listed no releases for the next week (see this article from the week before SotSC) or only listed the new release (see this article from the week before DiT).

All of this makes me wonder if we aren't going to see a 5e PDF release (Basic D&D? Starter Set?) next week.

IIRC, the Basic PDF will be available on July the 3rd, so next week.

Yes, I'm buying it all. I want to thanks Mearls and team for bringing back the D&D from the brink. It has been a long three years and we are almost there now. It feels like a good friend, after being away for a long while, has finally returned.

Same for me, except I didn't know about this site until the 4e playtests, so I had no information before a friend of mine had bought the books!
